First time I saw Pug Trainer Sejuani load into my game I genuinely thought someone was trolling. A giant pug instead of Bristle. Tiny puppy ears flopping around in a teamfight. Took me about three seconds to fall in love with it. Been running this skin on and off since it dropped and the novelty honestly hasnt worn off. Not even close.

What Pug Trainer Sejuani actually looks like in game

So Sejuani rides a massive pug. Thats the whole pitch and it works. The pug model is chunky in a good way, waddles when you move through lane, and has this dopey face that makes getting ganked feel less painful somehow. Sejuani herself swapped the war armor for a casual trainer outfit with a whistle around her neck. Looks like she’s about to run agility drills at a dog park instead of engaging on the enemy backline.

Not gonna lie, the skin doesnt come with new VFX or voice lines. Voice stays default. For an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP thats pretty standard, but I think the model work carries hard enough that you wont miss it. The pug animations do most of the heavy lifting here. Watch the idle animation where the pug sits down and pants. Pure serotonin.

Q charge looks the same particle-wise but seeing a pug barrel toward the enemy ADC at full speed is a completely different experience. W and E read fine in teamfights, no clarity issues. Ult still has that satisfying Sejuani R freeze but you’re throwing it from a pug. Context matters. (Random aside: my duo partner refuses to peel for me when I use this skin because he says he cant take me seriously.)

The Cats Versus Dogs line and where this fits

Pug Trainer Sejuani belongs to the Cats Versus Dogs skinline. One of Riot’s more lighthearted themes. The whole line splits champs into cat people and dog people, which is exactly the kind of low-stakes fun the game needs between all the edgy cosmic horror releases. Sejuani landed on the dog side obviously.

Release date isnt in my notes but I remember picking it up around season 8 or 9, could be wrong here but it was definitely before the Sejuani mini-rework patches. The Cats Versus Dogs set also gave us stuff like Pretty Kitty Rengar and Fuzz Fizz. Solid company.

8 chromas total if you want variety. Obsidian turns the pug into this dark-furred beast that looks way more intimidating than it should. Rose Quartz gives everything a soft pink tone that reads clean against the Rift. Catseye is the bright yellow option, kinda feels like a golden retriever cosplaying as a pug. Rest are fine but those three stood out to me after maybe 40 games cycling through them last March.

Shop has it. Permanent availability so no vault stress.

Compared to other Sejuani skins

Sejuani has a decent roster now. Project Sejuani, Solar Eclipse, Hextech, Firecracker. Real talk though, most of those go for the serious warrior fantasy. Pug Trainer Sejuani fills a completely different slot. You pick this when you want to have fun. When you’re in a late Tuesday night ranked session and your mental is already questionable. Lock this in and suddenly even a loss feels lighter.

Had this in rotation for two full splits alongside Project. Project wins on VFX quality and that mecha aesthetic. No contest there. But Pug Trainer wins on personality by a mile. Played maybe 60 games of Sejuani jungle last season and I kept coming back to the pug. Something about charging into dragon pit on a fat pug and landing a five-man ult just hits different.

Overpriced? Nah. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The model alone justifies it. Biggest downside is no new recall animation, which stings a little for an Epic. Would have loved to see Sejuani playing fetch or something during recall. Missed opportunity.

Should you buy Pug Trainer Sejuani?

Verdict time. If you play Sejuani at all, this is an easy pickup. Mains will appreciate having something this different from the standard ice warrior look. One-tricks especially. Spammed this in Diamond for weeks and got compliments in all chat more than once, which basically never happens for jungle players.

Skip it if you only care about VFX upgrades and competitive visual clarity. Fair point. But if you want a skin that makes you smile every time you load in, Pug Trainer Sejuani is the Sejuani skin if you can only own one fun option. Top pick for anyone who doesnt take their cosmetics too seriously. Worth 1350 RP if you main Sejuani. Full stop.
