Bewitching Miss Fortune

First time I saw this skin pop up in the shop back in October 2019, I thought Riot was just cashing in on the Halloween hype with another lazy costume swap. Played maybe 15 games with it that first week and completely changed my mind. Bewitching Miss Fortune hits a sweet spot between playful and polished that most seasonal skins dont manage. The witch hat, the pumpkin guns, the whole aesthetic just works on her silhouette without feeling forced.

What the skin actually brings to the table

For an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, the VFX overhaul is solid. Her Q bounces leave this purple-orange trail that reads cleanly in lane, which matters more than people think when you’re tracking bounces off minions to poke the enemy ADC. The W movement speed buff gets a subtle sparkle effect. Not flashy enough to distract but enough that you notice it.

Her E, Make It Rain, drops candy and pumpkins instead of bullets. Kinda feels like Riot had fun with this one. The slow zone has a warmer color palette compared to base, oranges and purples instead of the usual red. Been running this in Diamond games where I play Miss Fortune as a lane bully and the E visual actually helped me track the zone edges better. Could be wrong here but the contrast against Summoner’s Rift grass feels sharper than default.

The ult is where the skin earns its price. Bullet Time sprays these glowing purple-orange projectiles with jack-o-lantern particle effects. In a teamfight around dragon pit last season, I ulted through a chokepoint and honestly the visual chaos looked incredible. The recall animation has Miss Fortune sitting on a broomstick stirring a cauldron. Clean animation, good length, nothing overstayed.

Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Standard for this price point. No voice filter either, so you’re getting the same Miss Fortune lines you already know.

The Bewitching line and where Miss Fortune fits

Maki Planas Mata handled the artwork and the splash is genuinely one of the better Bewitching pieces. The composition puts Miss Fortune front and center with this confident pose, dual pumpkin pistols, witch hat tilted at an angle. Strong portfolio piece.

The Bewitching skinline is one of Riot’s recurring Halloween themes. Miss Fortune joined the lineup October 24, 2019, alongside Bewitching skins for other champions. The line has grown since then but I think Miss Fortune’s version holds up as one of the stronger entries. The color scheme fits her personality better than some of the more serious skinlines she’s been put in.

No chromas on this one. Zero. Which is honestly a missed opportunity because I would have dropped extra RP on a dark purple or blood red variant in a heartbeat. The base orange-purple palette is fine but more options would have been nice for a skin thats been around since 2019.

This is a Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it any time you want. It rotates back during Halloween events or you might get lucky with Hextech crafting. I picked mine up during the 2019 Harrowing event and haven’t seen it available outside of seasonal windows since (random aside: I actually set the splash as my Discord profile picture for like two months that Halloween).

Should you pick up Bewitching Miss Fortune?

Real verdict: if you main Miss Fortune and care about seasonal skins at all, this is a must-have. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX are clean, the theme is cohesive, the recall is fun. Not gonna lie, I rotate between this and Captain Fortune depending on my mood, and Bewitching wins out whenever I want something lighter in tone.

The biggest downside is availability. Being Legacy means you’re waiting for Riot to open the vault or hoping for a lucky reroll. Played against a Miss Fortune one-trick last Tuesday who was using Gun Goddess and I still think Bewitching looks better in actual gameplay, even without the Ultimate tier bells and whistles. The particle clarity on Q and R specifically gives it an edge in ranked where visual readability matters.

For Miss Fortune mains climbing through solo queue, this Epic skin delivers above its weight class. The Bewitching aesthetic keeps things fun without crossing into silly territory. Season 9 I think, or maybe early season 10, I went on a 12-game win streak with this skin equipped. Correlation isnt causation but the confidence boost from a good-looking skin is real. Worth 1350 RP if you main Miss Fortune, and worth hunting down during the next Harrowing event if you missed it.
