Pool Party Draven

First time I saw Pool Party Draven in a loading screen I laughed out loud. Legit. Draven already has one of the most obnoxious personalities in the game and putting him in swim trunks with pool noodle axes just amplifies everything. Been running this skin on and off since season 5 and it still gets reactions in chat.

What Pool Party Draven actually brings

So this is a 975 RP Standard tier skin, which means you’re not getting a full overhaul. Voice lines stay base. But what you do get is solid for the price point. Draven trades his signature axes for inflatable pool toys – colorful floaties that spin through the air when you catch them in lane. Might be overthinking it but theres something satisfying about the way they look mid-flight. The splash particles on auto attacks feel clean and the Q spinning axe trail has a water effect that reads well against the Rift.

The recall animation is the highlight. Draven does a cannonball into a kiddie pool. Peak Draven energy. I remember showing it to my duo partner last Tuesday and he immediately bought it. The animation captures the champion’s ego perfectly – he’s not just jumping in, he’s performing for an invisible crowd.

New VFX across his kit give everything a summer vibe. W blood rush leaves little water splashes, the stand aside (E) throws a wave of pool water. Not groundbreaking changes but they’re consistent. Every ability feels like it belongs in the theme. No new VO which is expected at this price point, though honestly Erik Braa’s base Draven voice works fine here. “Welcome to the League of Draven” hits different when he’s shirtless holding pool noodles.

Pool Party line and release context

Pool Party Draven dropped June 25, 2015. Right in the middle of summer, obviously. Sixmorevodka Studio nailed the splash – Draven lounging by the pool looking like the most confident man alive. Classic Sixmorevodka work.

The Pool Party skinline is one of Riot’s most popular seasonal lines and Draven fits it naturally. The whole concept of Pool Party is taking serious champions and throwing them into a beach party scenario. For someone like Draven who already thinks he’s the center of attention, it just works. Not sure if it’s just me but I think Pool Party suits ADC champions especially well because you see the particle changes constantly while farming cs in bot lane.

No chromas on this one. Shop has it permanently so you can pick it up whenever. (Random aside: this was the skin that got me to start playing Draven in ranked back in season 6, been a wild ride since.) For 975 RP in 2015 this was a strong release and it holds up surprisingly well even now.

Should you grab Pool Party Draven?

Real verdict: if you play Draven at all, this skin deserves a spot in your collection. 975 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX changes are noticeable, the recall is genuinely funny, and the thematic fit is perfect. Could be wrong here but I think this is the most fun Draven skin to actually play with in game. Skins like Mecha Kingdoms look flashier on paper but Pool Party has personality that the others dont match.

Played maybe 40 games with this last month in Diamond. The axes are easy to track, the animations are smooth, and it never gets old watching Draven cannonball during a recall after a triple kill. Skip this only if you’re saving for a Legendary. Otherwise lock it in. Best value Draven skin full stop.
