Victorious Morgana

Been maining Morgana on and off since season 3, and Victorious Morgana is one of those skins that just carries weight in the loading screen. You lock this in and people know you were around back in 2014, grinding ranked when the game looked completely different. Not gonna lie, the gold and blue color scheme still holds up better than half the skins Riot puts out today.

What Victorious Morgana actually brings

For a Standard tier skin this one punches above its weight class. The model swap trades Morgana’s usual dark purple aesthetic for royal blue armor plating with gold trim. Think Demacia but make it support. Her wings get a full rework visually, these sharp angular feathered pieces that catch light in teamfights way better than base.

VFX got updated too. Her Q, the Dark Binding, trails gold particles instead of the usual purple. Subtle change but it reads differently in lane. Could be wrong here but I think the Q hitbox actually looks thinner with this skin, which messes with opponents trying to sidestep. Her W pool shifts to that blue-gold palette and honestly its cleaner than most 1350 RP skins manage. The ult chains during Soul Shackles carry the same royal treatment.

Recall animation is custom. Morgana does this regal pose thing, wings spread wide. Short and clean. No new voice lines though, voice stays default. For a ranked reward skin from season 4 the production value was solid. Riot was still figuring out what Victorious skins should be back then, and Morgana was only the fourth one in the line.

The Victorious line and how Morgana fits

Released November 11, 2014, right at the end of season 4. The Victorious skinline is Riot’s way of rewarding Gold and above players each ranked season. Morgana joined Jarvan IV, Janna, and Elise in that lineup. Season 4 was peak support Morgana in pro play, she was permabanned at Worlds that year. Made sense as the pick.

(Random aside: I remember rushing my last promo game at like 1 AM the night before the season ended just to secure Gold for this skin. My jungler picked Shaco and I thought it was over.)

Special pricing on this one, meaning you cant buy it. Period. It was a ranked reward exclusive. These days it sits in the vault, loot eligible through Hextech crafting only. Seen maybe two of these in my Diamond games all season. Most people either rerolled it from shards without thinking or werent playing ranked back in 2014.

Should you care about Victorious Morgana?

Real verdict: if you have it, run it. The skin aged well considering its from ten years ago. The blue-gold VFX on Q and W read cleanly against the Rift, and the model holds up after Morgana’s visual update. Compared to something like Coven Morgana or Bewitching Morgana it obviously lacks the bells and whistles of a modern 1350 skin. No voice filter, no fancy toggle.

But thats not the point. Victorious skins are flex picks. You equip this to say “I was here.” For Morgana mains who earned it back in season 4, this is a permanent badge. For everyone else, you’re rolling the dice on Hextech crafting and hoping RNG cooperates. Not the best Morgana skin if we’re ranking pure quality, but the best one for bragging rights in the loading screen. Top pick for Morgana mains who value history over flashy particles. The Victorious line doesnt miss when it comes to prestige, and Morgana’s entry earned its spot.
