Sashimi Akali

First time I saw Sashimi Akali in the loading screen I thought someone was trolling me. An assassin dressed as a sushi chef with a fish for a weapon. Played against one in Diamond last season and honestly the skin distracted me more than it should have. Not gonna lie, it grew on me fast.

What Sashimi Akali actually brings to the table

This is a Standard 750 RP skin so set expectations accordingly. You’re not getting a full VFX overhaul or new voice lines. Voice stays default. No new recall animation either. What you do get is a complete model swap that turns Akali into a sushi chef wielding what looks like a giant salmon. The outfit is clean: white chef coat, red headband, the whole culinary aesthetic.

The Q feels slightly different visually. Subtle VFX tweaks that give the abilities a food-themed tint. Nothing dramatic. Could be wrong here but I think the shuriken particles have a slight color shift compared to base. Her E and R keep the same general read but the new model makes everything feel fresh just because you’re watching a chef backflip through the enemy backline.

Played maybe 30 games with this skin back in season 7 when I was spamming Akali before the rework. The auto attacks with the fish weapon have a satisfying weight to them. (Random aside: my duo partner refuses to play with me when I use this skin because he says it looks ridiculous.) The shroud still looks standard but honestly at 750 RP thats expected. You’re paying for the theme and model, not a particle overhaul.

The Culinary Masters line and some context

Sashimi Akali dropped September 7, 2016. Mid season 6. Jojo So nailed the splash, the composition with Akali slicing through fish mid-air captures the vibe perfectly.

Part of the Culinary Masters skinline alongside stuff like Baker Pantheon and Barbecue Leona. Riot doesnt add to this line often which makes these skins feel like collector pieces at this point. The culinary theme is one of those joke-adjacent concepts that actually executes well. Akali fits it naturally because of the blade fantasy: swap kunai for a chef’s knife, kama for a fish. Simple change – huge impact on how the champion reads in game.

No chromas available for this one. At 750 RP I wasnt expecting any but still worth mentioning. Shop has it permanently so no rush if you’re on the fence.

Should you pick up Sashimi Akali?

Real verdict: this is one of those skins that punches above its price point. 750 RP for a full model change with a genuinely fun theme. Been running this in ranked around 2 AM on weeknights when I want something lighter and it always gets comments in chat. Pre-6 laning with the fish weapon just hits different.

If you main Akali and you’re looking at her skin lineup, this obviously cant compete with K/DA or PROJECT in terms of raw quality. Those are different tiers entirely. But Sashimi Akali has personality that some of the flashier options lack. I think its the best joke skin for Akali by a wide margin.

For 750 RP the value is solid. Skip it if you only care about particle effects and new VO. Lock it in if you appreciate Riot’s goofier concepts and want something that stands out in the loading screen. Seen maybe 5 of these in my Diamond games all season which means you wont run into mirrors. Top pick for Akali mains who dont take themselves too seriously. The Culinary Masters fantasy is strong with this one and Akali wears it well.
