Ravenborn LeBlanc is one of those Halloween skins that actually earns the theming. Not a lazy recolor with orange particles slapped on – this one commits to the raven witch aesthetic across model, abilities, and recall. Grinded ranked with this for about two months straight after pulling it from a chest last season, stayed in rotation the entire time. LeBlanc mains who grabbed it on drop in October 2014 made a good call. Still holds up.
What Ravenborn actually changes on LeBlanc
The VFX set is where this Standard tier skin does its work. Her Q sigil shifts to a cracked rune design in deep crimson and black, the W distortion runs darker particle trails than base, and the ult is noticeably heavier in feel. Not sure if it’s just me but the R proc reads cleaner in teamfights – easier to track the real champion versus the clone mid-dive. The new recall is the other highlight: she summons a raven, watches it circle overhead, then vanishes in black mist. Probably 4 seconds total. Clean animation. Banger recall. No new voice lines on this one, VO stays base – thats fine because the default LeBlanc delivery already sounds cold enough to match the aesthetic without extra lines.
(sidebar for her mains specifically: watch the recall in practice tool if you haven’t seen it up close – genuinely one of the cleaner 2014 Halloween recalls Riot put out)
Trick-or-Treat skinline and the October 2014 drop
Trick-or-Treat is an uneven skinline. Some entries in that set are basic Halloween reskins with barely any effort behind them. Ravenborn LeBlanc is one of the better ones – the raven motif fits her deceiver identity in a way that actually tracks lore-wise, unlike some forced Halloween themes. Riot dropped this on October 28, 2014, two days before Halloween, obviously deliberate timing. Sperasoft Studio handled the splash and got the vibe right: she’s perched with a raven on her arm, dark fortress architecture behind her, lighting that makes her look menacing rather than just theatrical. Good splash piece. Been my phone wallpaper every October since around season 5 or 6.
The Trick-or-Treat line from that era also included Witch’s Brew Blitzcrank and Zombie Brand. Hit-or-miss collection overall. Ravenborn hits.
Legacy vault and is 1350 RP worth it
Sits in the Legacy vault now. So you can’t walk into the shop and drop 1350 RP on Ravenborn LeBlanc whenever you want – need to roll it from chests, craft it from shards, or catch a Legacy sale window. Loot eligible, so the chest route is viable if you’re willing to grind. Saw it available in a Legacy window last October, around patch 14.21 – maybe just my experience but those windows tend to line up with Halloween patch cycles pretty consistently.
Should you chase it? If LeBlanc is your main or one-trick, yes. New VFX, a strong recall, and a theme that actually fits her for 1350 RP is a solid deal – real changes, not a color swap. Elderwood LeBlanc exists at the same price with more visual layers overall, but Ravenborn hits the cold-assassin angle harder and reads better on the Rift when you’re diving their backline. Casual players who lane her occasionally have better uses for their shards. For the climbing mains who’ve been spamming her in Diamond all season, Ravenborn is worth the vault hunt.
