First time I saw Prestige Fuzz Fizz (2022) pop up in the Mythic shop rotation I had to do a double take. Golden puppy Fizz. Thats the pitch. And somehow it works better than it has any right to. Been a Fizz player on and off since season 5, mostly as a pocket pick when my main gets banned, and this skin immediately went into the rotation the moment I got my hands on it.

The golden retriever energy is real

So the original Fuzz Fizz already turned Fizz into a puppy with a cat toy for a trident. Prestige Fuzz Fizz (2022) takes that concept and dips the whole thing in white and gold. Classic Prestige treatment. The fur goes from brown to this creamy white with golden highlights, the outfit gets the luxe makeover, and the VFX shift to match with warm golden particles on every ability.

Q dash leaves a trail of sparkly gold. Clean. W proc has this satisfying golden burst that reads well in lane without being too flashy. Not gonna lie, the E is where this skin earns its keep. Fizz hops on his pole and the splash-down zone gets this radiant golden circle that actually looks premium. Feels different from the base Fuzz version in a good way.

The R shark is still a dog, obviously, because Cats Versus Dogs skinline. But now its a golden dog. A prestigious golden dog. The recall animation kept the playful vibe from the original, Fizz rolling around being adorable, just recolored into the Prestige palette. Could be wrong here but I think the recall particles got slightly tweaked too, more shimmer on the landing. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is standard for Prestige skins anyway.

One thing I noticed after maybe 30 games with this skin: the gold particles on E are slightly harder to track in teamfights around dragon pit compared to the regular Fuzz version. Not a competitive disadvantage exactly, more like the VFX blend into certain terrain. Noticed it specifically last Thursday in a ranked game where their jungler walked right into my E because he probably didnt see the indicator clearly. Lucky for me.

Prestige rereleases and the Cats Versus Dogs line

Prestige Fuzz Fizz (2022) dropped April 1, 2022. The timing is funny because April Fools, golden puppy Fizz. Riot knew what they were doing. This is the rerelease version of the original Prestige Fuzz Fizz from 2019, part of Riot’s initiative to bring older Prestige skins back through the revamped Mythic shop system.

Rudy Siswanto handled the artwork and the splash is genuinely gorgeous. The composition captures Fizz mid-leap with the golden palette popping against a softer background. (Random aside: I used the original Fuzz Fizz splash as my Discord avatar for like eight months straight.)

The Cats Versus Dogs skinline is one of Riot’s more lighthearted thematic sets. Fizz fits naturally into the dog side of that rivalry. The whole line has this playful energy that suits champions who dont take themselves too seriously. Fizz is the poster child for that energy. Been spamming this in Diamond during slow patches and it just hits different when you’re diving the backline as a golden puppy.

No chromas on this one, which makes sense. Prestige skins are the chroma, basically. The white and gold IS the variant. Mythic tier means you’re not buying this for RP in the traditional sense. Special pricing through Mythic Essence, so you either grind it out or you dont get it. Sits in the vault currently, so availability is limited to whenever Riot decides to rotate it back in.

How it compares to other Fizz skins

Fizz has a solid skin catalog. Fisherman Fizz is the classic meme pick. Little Devil Fizz is probably the most popular in my ranked games, I see it constantly. Astronaut Fizz has the cleanest VFX if you want competitive readability. Where does Prestige Fuzz Fizz (2022) land?

Somewhere in the upper third. Real talk though, this skin is more about the flex than the gameplay feel. You lock in Prestige Fuzz Fizz and people in champ select notice. Had a support last week type “nice skin” before minions even spawned. Season 12 I think, maybe early 13, this was the skin to have on Fizz if you wanted to show you’d been around.

The VFX are good but not Legendary-tier transformative. The model change is essentially a recolor of the original Fuzz Fizz with premium materials. For Fizz one-tricks who already own regular Fuzz, the upgrade is noticeable but not dramatic. For everyone else, its a collector piece. A really good looking collector piece.

The honest take

Should you chase this through the Mythic shop? If you main Fizz, absolutely. Top pick for Fizz mains who want something exclusive. The golden aesthetic is clean, the VFX feel polished, and the exclusivity factor is real. Might be overthinking it but there’s something about playing an assassin who looks like a luxury brand mascot that makes the outplays feel better.

If you’re not a Fizz player, save your Mythic Essence. This skin rewards people who actually put time into the champion. Pre-6 laning with Fizz is rough enough without spending rare currency on a skin you’ll use twice. But for the mains, for the people who have 400+ games on the fish, Prestige Fuzz Fizz (2022) is one of those skins that just feels right to own. S-tier Fizz cosmetic, vault rotation or not.
