Odyssey Jinx

First time I saw Odyssey Jinx load in, I thought someone modded their client. The space pirate look caught me off guard because Jinx already has that chaotic energy baked into her kit, and slapping a sci-fi bounty hunter outfit on top of it just works. Been running this in Diamond for a while now and it still feels fresh even after hundreds of games. Not gonna lie, this one surprised me.

What Odyssey Jinx actually brings to the table

So the model is a full rework from base. Jinx gets this orange-tinted space suit with goggles pushed up on her forehead and her hair braided into these thick cyan strands that trail behind her. Pow-Pow and Fishbones both got the sci-fi treatment. Pow-Pow looks like some kind of retrofuturistic blaster cannon, and Fishbones has this chunky rocket launcher vibe with glowing orange exhausts. Clean designs on both.

The VFX are where the 1350 RP earns its keep. Her Q swap between minigun and rocket launcher has new particle effects with orange and teal energy bursts. W fires this bright orange laser line across the lane that reads way cleaner than base Jinx’s zap. Kinda feels like it’s easier to land skillshots with the new particles, though thats probably just placebo from looking at it so much.

E chompers drop as little hovering space mines. They pulse with energy before they arm. Her ult launches this massive rocket with a glowing trail that cuts across the Rift. Saw it snipe a low-health Ezreal from bot lane to top side last Saturday around midnight in a ranked game. The explosion VFX on impact has that satisfying sci-fi detonation feel.

Recall animation is solid. Jinx messes around with some kind of alien creature, very on-brand for her. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but the skin doesnt really need it since Jinx’s default voice already matches the unhinged space pirate energy.

The Odyssey line and where Jinx fits

Odyssey dropped September 12, 2018. Late season 8. The whole Odyssey skinline came as a batch with that PvE game mode, and Jinx was the star of the event basically. Esben Lash Rasmussen nailed the splash. The composition puts Jinx front and center with Fishbones aimed right at the viewer, very action-movie poster energy.

The Odyssey crew included Kayn, Malphite, Sona, Ziggs, and Yasuo alongside Jinx. Out of the whole set I think Jinx got the best treatment. Could be wrong here but the space pirate fantasy just fits her personality better than it does for someone like Malphite. (Random aside: I still miss the Odyssey game mode, Riot please bring it back.)

6 chromas total for this one. Tanzanite is my pick, the deep purple recolor on the suit and hair gives it a completely different vibe from base. Pearl goes white and clean if you want something more subtle. Ruby exists but honestly it blends into the orange base palette too much for my taste. Shop has it permanently so no vault anxiety.

Is Odyssey Jinx worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic skin for Jinx mains. The VFX overhaul on every ability makes it feel like a premium purchase, and the model work is genuinely good. Played maybe 40 games with it last month during my climb through Diamond 3 and the auto attack animations feel smooth in lane. CS-ing with the minigun form felt crisp.

Where it sits in the Jinx skin lineup is interesting. Star Guardian Jinx gets more hype. Project Jinx is flashier. But Odyssey has this personality to it that the others dont match. The sci-fi bounty hunter angle gives Jinx a different identity without losing what makes her fun to play. If you’re an ADC main who wants something with character over pure spectacle, this is the one.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Full VFX, new model, new recall, solid chromas if you want variety. Been spamming this in ranked and I keep coming back to it over skins that cost more. For Jinx one-tricks specifically, this belongs in your rotation. Skip it only if you already own Star Guardian and dont need another Jinx skin competing for lock-in screen time.
