Coven Lissandra

First time I saw Coven Lissandra in a loading screen I actually paused to look at the splash. Not something I do often. The whole dark witch aesthetic fits Lissandra so naturally it feels like this should have been her base skin from the start. Been running this as my default Lissandra skin since late 2018 and honestly havent found a reason to switch off it.

What Coven Lissandra actually brings to the Rift

So the VFX overhaul here is clean. Her Q ice shard gets this dark violet energy trail that reads better in lane than the base blue. Easier to track your poke in messy teamfights too. Could be wrong here but I think the hitbox visual actually matches the real hitbox more accurately than default, which is rare for a 1350 RP skin.

W is where things get interesting. The ring effect has these thorny, almost branch-like tendrils that crawl outward. Played maybe 40 games in Diamond last season with this skin and the W root indicator feels more threatening to opponents. Had a Zed back off my engage just from the visual pressure alone last Thursday around midnight.

E travel path leaves a dark trail that’s easier for your team to follow. Useful callout when you’re looking to engage from fog. R is the highlight though. Frozen Tomb gets this massive dark energy burst with purple-black crystalline shards. Looks fantastic in a teamfight when you ult their backline. Dropped it on a fed Kai’Sa in dragon pit two nights ago and my jungler said the VFX alone scared him.

Recall animation is new. Lissandra does this ritual summoning thing. Fits the Coven theme perfectly. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but the skin doesn’t need it. The visual package carries.

The Coven line and where Lissandra fits

Released November 27, 2018. Kelly Aleshire nailed the splash. The composition puts Lissandra front and center with this dark forest canopy framing, very witchy, very atmospheric.

The Coven skinline is one of Riot’s better thematic sets. Kinda feels like they designed it with Lissandra in mind first and built the rest of the roster around that energy. Morgana and Camille got Coven skins too but Lissandra’s reads as the most natural fit. The ice mage turning dark witch archetype just works.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to, strips everything down to black and dark grey and it looks menacing in lane. Tanzanite pushes deeper into purple territory which pairs well with the base VFX. Dark Ritual is the event-exclusive one and honestly its the most unique of the set with that teal-and-crimson contrast. Rest are fine but those three carry the chroma lineup.

Is Coven Lissandra worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is the Lissandra skin if you can only own one. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on every ability, solid recall, 8 chromas if you want variety. Permanent shop, grab it any time.

Not gonna lie, Porcelain and Dark Cosmic both came out after this and neither replaced Coven in my rotation. Dark Cosmic has the Legendary price tag and more features sure. But Coven Lissandra at Epic tier delivers so much value per RP spent that its hard to justify tripling the cost. Been maining Lissandra with this skin through season 9 I think or 10 dont remember, all the way to current patch. Still holds up.

Skip this only if you already own Dark Cosmic and feel committed to it. For everyone else climbing with Lissandra, for anyone who plays her as a counter pick in comp, for the one-tricks who lock in Lissandra regardless of lane prio. This is the one. The Coven fantasy is strong, the price is right, and the VFX actually help your gameplay readability. Best value Lissandra skin full stop.
