Chosen of the Wolf Pantheon

First game I loaded this skin into was a late-night ranked session, maybe 1 AM on a Wednesday. Locked in Pantheon support because my ADC wanted Draven and I felt like being annoying. The loading screen hit and I just sat there staring at the splash for a second. Francis Tneh and West Studio put in the work here. The wolf motif across the armor, the feral energy in the stance. Banger splash. Took me a solid minute to remember I had a lane to play.

What the skin actually brings to the table

So for 1350 RP you’re getting new VFX across the board plus a new recall animation. Voice lines stay base, which is expected at this price point. The VFX are where Chosen of the Wolf Pantheon earns its keep though.

The Q – both tap and channel – gets this wolfish energy trail that reads clean in lane. Not gonna lie, the charged Q feels more satisfying to land with the wolf particles streaking behind the spear. Could be placebo but my poke game felt sharper. The W leap has wolf imagery woven into the impact, and the E shield wall picks up the feral aesthetic without getting too busy. Thats the thing I appreciate most. Riot sometimes overloads Epic skins with particle noise and it hurts gameplay clarity, but here they kept it readable.

The R is the highlight. Grand Starfall with wolf VFX trailing Pantheon as he drops from the sky. Been running this in Diamond for a few months now and every time I channel R from fog of war onto the backline, the wolf particles make the engage feel cinematic. Had a game last week where I ulted onto their Jinx at dragon pit and my duo literally said “that looked sick” in voice chat. Small thing but it adds up over hundreds of games.

Recall animation is solid. Wolf-themed, fits the fantasy. Nothing groundbreaking but it doesnt need to be. Standard stuff for an Epic tier skin.

The Chosen of the Wolf line and release context

Chosen of the Wolf dropped November 6, 2024. Late season 14. The Chosen of the Wolf skinline pulled in a few champions – Swain, Katarina, Kindred, Ambessa all got skins in the line. Pantheon fits the wolf warrior theme naturally. Dude is already about martial honor and combat glory, slapping a wolf aesthetic on top just works.

Kinda feels like Riot designed this line specifically for champions who have that “warrior spirit” angle. Pantheon slots in perfectly. (Random aside: the Chosen of the Wolf Swain is also clean but Pantheon’s version edges it out for me personally.)

8 chromas total for Chosen of the Wolf Pantheon. Obsidian is my go-to because the dark wolf armor reads like something out of a Souls game, fits the aggressive playstyle. Tanzanite hits different too – the purple and gold combo gives off a more regal vibe compared to the base palette. Ruby exists for the people who want red on everything, fair enough. Shop has it, permanent availability, so no rush if you’re on the fence.

Should you buy Chosen of the Wolf Pantheon?

Real verdict: 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX package is cohesive, the wolf theme is consistent across every ability, and the splash is wallpaper-worthy. No new VO hurts a little but at Epic pricing I cant hold that against it.

If you main Pantheon this is an easy pickup. Might be overthinking it but I think this competes with Ashen Conqueror for best Epic-tier Pantheon skin. Pulsefire exists in Legendary territory so thats a different conversation, but within the 1350 bracket Chosen of the Wolf holds its own. Been daily driving this since it dropped and I keep coming back to it over my other Pantheon skins.

Skip it if you already have Ashen Conqueror and dont feel like spending more on the same champion. But if you’re climbing with Pantheon this season and want something fresh, this is the one. The wolf VFX on Grand Starfall alone is worth the lock-in. Top pick for Pantheon mains who want clean particles without the Legendary price tag.
