Mythmaker Nami

First game I played with Mythmaker Nami was a late-night ranked session, maybe 1 AM on a Thursday. Locked her in without checking the spotlight, just vibes. The loading screen splash hit me before the game even started. Nathaniel Himawan and West Studio put in the work here, and the red-gold palette reads so clean against the dark background. Not gonna lie, I sat there for a second before tabbing back in.

How Mythmaker Nami actually looks in game

The model swap leans heavy into the Lunar New Year aesthetic the Mythmaker line carries. Red and gold dominate, with ornamental flowing ribbons that trail behind Nami as she moves. Her staff got a full redesign with this koi-inspired motif that catches light in teamfights.

VFX are where the 1350 RP earns its keep. Her W bounce shows these red energy wisps that arc between targets, and I think the heal visual is easier to track than base Nami. Q bubble has golden particles on impact. Feels snappy. The ult wave is the standout though. Big red-gold tidal wave rolling through the lane with lantern-style particles trailing behind it. Been running this in Diamond support games and the wave reads well even in chaotic 5v5s around dragon pit.

Recall animation is new. She does this ceremonial dance with floating lanterns. Clean execution, nothing over the top. Voice lines stay base, which is expected at this price point. Could be wrong here but the auto attack sound feels slightly different, maybe just the particle change messing with my perception.

(Random aside: my duo partner who mains ADC said the W bounce particles made him actually notice when I was healing him for once. Small win.)

The Mythmaker skinline and release context

Mythmaker Nami dropped January 23, 2025. Season 15 start window. The Mythmaker line has been one of Riot’s go-to Lunar New Year collections, and Nami fits the water-deity theme naturally. Koi fish, flowing water, red silk. It works without forcing the champion into something she isnt.

The line includes Irelia, Zyra, Garen, Jhin, and others across multiple years. Nami’s entry sits comfortably in the middle of the pack quality-wise. Not the best Mythmaker skin, that’s probably Irelia, but solid for what it is.

8 chromas total. Tanzanite is my pick, the deep purple shifts the whole vibe from festive to mystical. Obsidian goes dark and edgy which feels weird on Nami but some people are into that contrast. Pearl keeps it light and elegant if the red-gold base is too loud for you. Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it whenever. Gotta wait for the vault rotation or get lucky with Hextech crafting.

Is Mythmaker Nami worth 1350 RP?

Straight talk: this is a good Epic tier Nami skin. Not her best, thats still a fight between Cosmic Destiny and Splendid Staff depending on who you ask. But Mythmaker holds its own. The VFX clarity on W and R genuinely helps in lane and in teamfights where you need your ADC to follow up on the wave engage.

Played maybe 40 games with this across two patches and I keep it in rotation. The red-gold color scheme stands out on the Rift without being distracting. If you main Nami and you like the Mythmaker aesthetic, 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Spammed this in Diamond duo queue for a couple weeks straight after release.

Been maining Nami on and off since season 9 I think or 10 dont remember, and this skin slots into her top four easily. The main knock is availability. Being Legacy means new Nami players might not even know it exists. If it shows up in your shop or you spot it during a vault event, worth picking up. Skip it only if you already own Cosmic Destiny and dont need another Nami skin in the collection. For everyone else who plays peel support and wants something fresh for their champion pool: solid buy, no regrets from me after two months of daily driving it.
