First time I saw Lancer Paragon Blitzcrank load in, I thought someone modded a Gundam into League. Not even joking. The white and gold armor plating, the lance arm, the whole knightly mech thing. Played against one in a Diamond ranked game last season and had to look it up immediately after. Blitzcrank has a lot of skins but this one hits a completely different frequency.

The holy knight fantasy on a steam golem

So the concept is Blitzcrank as this divine lancer knight, white and gold armor with sharp angular plating everywhere. Think paladin energy but mechanical. The model rework is clean for a 1350 RP Epic. Every surface catches light differently, the gold trim on the shoulders and chest reads well even in teamfights when everything is chaos.

VFX got a full overhaul. The Q hook launches with this bright golden energy trail that honestly makes it easier to track in lane. Could be wrong here but I think the hitbox visual actually matches better than base Blitzcrank’s grab. The W speed boost gets golden particle effects around his feet, and the E uppercut has this burst of white light on impact. Satisfying stuff.

R is where it shines though. The static field pulses out in this radiant golden wave. Used it in a 4-man teamfight near dragon pit last week and the screen just lit up. Beautiful. The passive shield also gets the gold treatment, wrapping Blitzcrank in this luminous barrier that screams “I am not dying here.”

The recall animation is new and fits the theme perfectly. Blitzcrank plants his lance into the ground like some kind of oath. Knightly. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is standard for this price point. Doesnt bother me much since Blitzcrank’s base voice already works with the armored look.

Lancer line and where this skin sits

Lancer Paragon dropped November 16, 2017. Late season 7 if I remember right. Jojo So handled the artwork, and the splash captures the vibe: Blitzcrank mid-charge with lance forward, golden light radiating behind him. Strong composition.

The Lancer skinline splits into two sides. Paragon is the light version, Rogue is the dark counterpart. Blitzcrank got both, and Hecarim got Lancer Zero. Not gonna lie, the Lancer concept works better on Blitzcrank than it has any right to. A robot jousting knight shouldn’t make this much sense but here we are.

No chromas available for this one. Zero. Which is a shame because I think a deep blue or crimson recolor would look incredible on this model. The white and gold is gorgeous but options would be nice. (Random aside: I keep hoping Riot revisits the Lancer line with chromas someday because the armor geometry is perfect for recolors.)

This one sits in the Legacy vault now. Can’t just walk into the shop and buy it. You either wait for a vault opening event, roll it from Hextech crafting, or get lucky with My Shop. Seen maybe two of these in my games all season because of the limited availability.

Paragon versus the rest of the Blitzcrank lineup

Blitzcrank has a stacked skin catalog. Space Groove is flashy, Battle Boss is fun, iBlitzcrank was groundbreaking back in the day. Where does Lancer Paragon fit? I think it’s the most visually cohesive Blitzcrank skin in the roster. Every element ties together: the model, the VFX color palette, the recall. Nothing feels tacked on.

Compared to Lancer Rogue, the dark version, Paragon reads cleaner on the Rift. The gold particles pop against every map surface. Rogue’s purple and black can get muddy in river fights or around baron pit specifically. Been running Paragon in my support games since I rolled it from a chest around patch 13.19, and it just feels right.

Real talk though, the skin does have one weakness. The Q animation being bright gold means enemies see it coming slightly easier than base. In Diamond games where reaction time matters, that extra visual clarity works against you. Not a dealbreaker but worth knowing if you’re a Blitzcrank one-trick who lives and dies by blind hooks from fog of war.

The honest take

1350 RP feels fair for what you get here. New model, full VFX suite, new recall. Standard Epic package but executed at a high level. The Lancer fantasy on Blitzcrank is one of those “shouldn’t work but absolutely does” situations.

Main downside is availability. Legacy vault skin means you can’t just grab it whenever. If it shows up in your My Shop or during a vault event, lock it in. Especially if you play Blitzcrank in ranked with any regularity. Top pick for Blitzcrank mains who want something that looks premium without going full meme like Definitely Not or Beezcrank. The divine knight angle is unique in his catalog and I keep coming back to it over flashier options. Worth the wait for the vault rotation.
