First time I saw Super Galaxy Fizz load in, I thought someone modded a Gundam into League. Not even joking. The skin turns this annoying little fish assassin into a full mecha pilot and honestly it works way better than it has any right to. Been running this in Diamond for a couple seasons now and the VFX alone make it worth locking in.

What the mecha suit actually changes

So the big thing with Super Galaxy Fizz is the complete visual overhaul on abilities. His Q dash gets this clean thruster trail, bright blue-white energy that reads well against the Rift. The W active has a different particle set too, mechanical sparks instead of the usual fish magic. Solid change.

His E is where it gets interesting. Playful/Trickster swaps the pole for what looks like a rocket boost, and the landing zone has that mecha circle indicator. Kinda feels like you’re piloting a mini gundam every time you dodge a skillshot. The R though, thats the highlight for me. Instead of a shark you get this massive mecha drill thing erupting from the ground. First time I saw it chomp their ADC in a teamfight near dragon pit last season I actually laughed out loud.

Recall animation is new. Fizz does this whole transformation sequence where his mech powers up. Classic Super Galaxy energy, very anime. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but the sound effects on abilities carry enough personality that you dont really notice.

(Random aside: the recall animation alone has made me late to lane more times than I want to admit because I keep watching it finish instead of canceling.)

The Super Galaxy line and release context

Super Galaxy Fizz dropped May 25, 2016. Mid season 6 if I remember right. Jojo So nailed the splash, the composition with Fizz’s mech suit against that cosmic background hits the mecha anime aesthetic perfectly. Check Jojo So’s other work, they consistently deliver on these action-heavy splashes.

The Super Galaxy skinline is one of Riot’s love letters to mecha anime. Think Gurren Lagann energy. Rumble got the first one and it set the bar pretty high, then they expanded to Fizz, Shyvana, Kindred, and others. Not sure if it’s just me but Fizz might be the best executed of the set after Rumble. The theme fits his kit naturally because every ability already has clear visual moments that translate well into mecha effects.

No chromas on this one. Zero. Which is a shame because I think a red or gold variant would look incredible with the mecha design. Maybe Riot will circle back to it someday but I’m not holding my breath. Shop has it at 1350 RP, permanent availability, so no rush if you’re on the fence.

Is Super Galaxy Fizz worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: for an Epic skin at 1350 RP, Super Galaxy Fizz delivers. New VFX on every ability, new recall, solid splash art. The mecha drill ult alone changes how the skin feels in teamfights. Could be wrong here but I think this competes with Omega Squad and Astronaut for best Fizz skin in the Epic tier.

Where it falls short is the lack of voice filter. A mecha suit without a voice modulator feels like a missed opportunity. Been playing maybe 150 games with this skin since I picked it up around two patches into season 12, and the base Fizz voice coming out of a giant robot still catches me off guard sometimes. Minor complaint though.

If you’re a Fizz main climbing through ranked, this is an easy pickup. The ability VFX are clean enough that they don’t distract from gameplay but distinct enough that you feel the 1350 RP investment every time you Q into the backline. For one-tricks specifically this is probably your second or third skin purchase after whichever Legendary or Mythic you’re eyeing. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Not the flashiest Fizz skin in the catalog but a reliable one that holds up years after release. Played a game last Tuesday around midnight where I went 12/2 with this skin on and my support asked me what skin it was. Still turning heads in 2026. Worth it.
