Sugar Rush Braum

First game I played with Sugar Rush Braum was a late night ranked session, probably around 1 AM on a Wednesday. My duo locked in Draven bot and I hovered Braum, saw the candy-themed splash, and honestly just thought it was hilarious. Big mustache man holding a giant cookie door. Sold. That was back in December 2019 and I’ve kept it in rotation since.

What the candy treatment actually does to Braum

So the whole concept is Braum but make it gingerbread. His shield is a massive cookie. Thats the centerpiece and it reads perfectly in teamfights when you’re standing in front of your ADC eating skillshots. The brown-and-frosting color palette is clean against the Rift, especially during late-game fights around baron pit where everything gets visually cluttered.

New VFX across the board. His Q throws what looks like a peppermint projectile, the slow trail has candy particles. Not sure if it’s just me but the Q hitbox feels more visible with this skin compared to base. Could be placebo. His passive proc pops with a little sugar burst effect which is satisfying when you stack it on their jungler during a river skirmish.

The recall animation is where Riot went all in. Braum builds a gingerbread house, flexes, and the whole thing is just peak Braum energy. Been spamming the recall after every successful peel play in Diamond and my teammates always drop emotes when they see it. The W and E dont get dramatic changes but the shield raise has frosting particles that catch the eye.

Voice lines stay base. Standard for a 1350 RP Epic tier skin and honestly Braum’s base VO is already so good that new lines would be hard to improve on. “The heart is the strongest muscle” hits different when you’re holding a cookie shield. (Random aside: Braum has the most wholesome voice lines in the entire game and I will die on that hill.)

The Sugar Rush line and who made this thing

Sugar Rush dropped December 17, 2019. Late into season 9 if I remember right. Xiao Guang Sun and West Studio handled the artwork, they captured the warmth of the candy theme without making it look cheap. The splash has Braum standing in what looks like a candy kingdom with gingerbread architecture everywhere.

The Sugar Rush skinline is one of Riot’s lighter themed sets. Braum fits naturally because his personality already leans into that friendly protector vibe. Ziggs got one in the same batch. Kinda feels like Riot designed the whole Sugar Rush concept around champions who already have that playful energy.

8 chromas total. Obsidian turns the gingerbread dark chocolate which honestly looks cleaner than base in my opinion. Sweet Tooth is the event chroma with a pink and cyan split that pops hard in lane. Peridot gives it a mint-green flavor that reads well against the brown base. Rest are solid but those three are the ones worth caring about. Shop has it permanently so no vault anxiety.

Is Sugar Rush Braum worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you play Braum in ranked at all, this skin competes for his best cosmetic. Might be overthinking it but I think the cookie shield actually helps teammates recognize your E in chaotic teamfights. Played maybe 30 games with it last season in bot lane specifically and the visual clarity on his passive stacks felt better than Dragonslayer.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX, the recall is a highlight, and the theme lands perfectly on Braum as a champion. Crime City Braum exists at the same price point and I think Sugar Rush edges it out on personality alone. The only Braum skin I’d put above this is maybe El Tigre for the wrestling fantasy, but that’s a different vibe entirely.

Worth it for Braum mains, worth it for support players who want something lighthearted in their collection. Been daily driving this one and Lionheart and keep coming back to Sugar Rush more often than not. Skip it only if you already own three Braum skins and dont need another. Otherwise, lock it in.
