Solar Eclipse Sejuani

First game I played with Solar Eclipse Sejuani was around 3 AM on a Wednesday, queued up for ranked and honestly wasnt expecting much. Sejuani skins have been hit or miss for years. But the loading screen splash hit different. Huyy Nguyen and West Studio put in the work here, and you can tell from the golden armor plating alone that this one got real attention from the art team.

What Solar Eclipse Sejuani actually brings to the table

The VFX overhaul is where this skin earns its 1350 RP. Sejuani’s Q charge trails solar fire behind Bristle, bright gold particles that read cleanly against the Rift even in messy teamfights. Her W swings leave this radiant arc that feels heavier than base. Solid visual feedback. The E passive stacks show up as these sun-mark indicators on enemies, and when you proc the stun the burst is this clean golden shatter. Not gonna lie, it makes landing the cc feel more satisfying than it should.

R is the standout. Glacial Prison turns into this blazing solar projectile that trails light across the lane. Hit a 4-man ult in dragon pit last season and the screen just lit up gold. Beautiful stuff. The recall animation fits the Eclipse fantasy too, Sejuani channeling solar energy with Bristle rearing up. Clean execution for an Epic tier skin.

Voice lines stay base though. No VO refresh. Kinda feels like a missed opportunity given how much the Eclipse line commits to its aesthetic, but thats standard for 1350 RP skins so I cant really complain. The base Sejuani voice still works fine with the solar knight vibe.

The Eclipse line and where this skin sits

Released April 28, 2022. Late season 12 if I remember right. The Eclipse skinline is one of Riot’s strongest thematic sets. Solar Eclipse Sejuani fits naturally into it because Sejuani already has that warrior-paladin energy in her base kit. The golden armor, the celestial VFX, the mount redesign – everything clicks.

Been maining Sejuani with this skin on and off since it dropped. Maybe just my experience but she feels like one of the better Eclipse recipients. The tankiness of her kit matches the heavy ornate armor design. Played maybe 40 games with it this season in Diamond and I keep coming back to it over PROJECT Sejuani, which says something.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to because the dark gold contrast reads aggressively in lane and makes you look like a raid boss walking into bot lane for a gank. Tanzanite hits this deep purple celestial look that almost feels like a Lunar Eclipse variant. Pearl is clean if you want the lighter aesthetic but I think it loses some of the solar identity. Rest are fine but those three stand out.

Is Solar Eclipse Sejuani worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic skin. Top pick for Sejuani mains who want something that feels premium without Legendary pricing. The VFX carry hard, the recall is solid, and the Eclipse thematic just works on a mounted tank champion. (Random aside: the splash has been my desktop wallpaper for like six months now and I still havent changed it.)

Shop has it, permanent availability. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Could be wrong here but I think this edges out Hextech Sejuani for second best skin behind Poro Rider, depending on whether you prefer the serious or goofy vibe. If you play Sejuani in ranked at all, this is the skin. The Q engage looks intimidating, the R reads like a threat, and the whole package just communicates “this jungle Sejuani is about to peel your backline apart.” Been running this in comp games where I need my team to trust the engage and it delivers. Worth every RP for mains, easy skip if you dont play her.
