If you were around in season 1 you remember the old Lollipoppy splash. The one that haunted your nightmares. Riot eventually updated it after the Poppy rework but honestly the legacy of that cursed image lives on in every Poppy main’s heart. Been running this skin since maybe 2015 and it still gets reactions in champ select. Not always positive ones.

The candy hammer and what changed

Lollipoppy turns Poppy into a candy-themed yordle swinging a massive lollipop hammer. The whole model leans into the Sugar Rush vibe with bright colors and sweets everywhere. Her armor gets replaced with what looks like wrapped candy pieces, and the hammer itself is this giant spiral lollipop that feels satisfying to bonk people with.

VFX got updated when Poppy received her full champion rework. The Q slam has this sweet candy burst, and her ult sends people flying with colorful particles. Kinda feels like Riot gave the VFX team creative freedom here and they ran with it. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is expected for a 975 RP Standard tier skin from 2010.

Real talk though, the skin reads well in teamfights. Playing this into a full engage comp last Thursday, I could still track my abilities clearly even in the chaos of a dragon pit fight. The bright candy colors actually help with gameplay clarity which I wasnt expecting from a meme skin. Simple change – huge impact on how the kit feels visually when you’re peeling for your ADC or diving the backline.

Sugar Rush origins and the infamous splash

Released October 19, 2010. Season 1 era. The original splash art became one of the most notorious images in League history. That dead-eyed stare haunted the Rift for years. (Random aside: my friend group used to send the old splash in Discord as a jumpscare and it worked every single time.)

Part of the Sugar Rush skinline. The line includes other candy-themed skins across the roster and Lollipoppy fits right in. Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it from the shop whenever you want. Hextech only these days unless Riot opens the vault for an event.

Not sure if it’s just me but 975 RP feels reasonable for what this delivers. You get the full model swap, the lollipop hammer, updated VFX post-rework. No chromas available which makes sense given the skin’s age. For a Standard tier Legacy skin thats been around since the early days of League, the value proposition is decent.

Should you chase this one?

Verdict time. Lollipoppy is part meme, part genuinely fun Poppy skin. If you main Poppy and you want something lighthearted for those games where you’re not sweating in ranked, this delivers. Spammed this in Diamond during season 12 I think, and the lollipop hammer bonks never got old. The Sugar Rush theme works for Poppy’s kit specifically because her whole gameplay fantasy is about smashing people with a big weapon.

Skip it if you already have Star Guardian or Astronaut Poppy and only want one skin in rotation. Those are more polished overall. But for the culture? For the meme legacy? Lollipoppy hits different. Worth 975 RP if you main Poppy. The fact that its locked in the Legacy vault makes it harder to get which honestly adds to the appeal. Three things stood out after hundreds of games: the hammer model, the bright VFX on ult, and the psychological warfare of that skin name in loading screen. Best joke skin Poppy has, full stop.
