Frostfire Annie swaps fire for ice. Simple concept but the execution at 975 RP is better than you would expect for a 2011 skin. May 24, 2011 release. The idea of Annie casting frost magic instead of fire was compelling enough that Riot gave this one actual VFX changes, which was unusual for a sub-1350 RP skin back then. Played against one in Diamond about two months ago and I didnt immediately recognize the abilities because the blue particles look so different from standard Annie.

Ice magic on the fire mage

The model puts Annie in a blue winter outfit with icy accents. Tibbers becomes a frost bear with blue-white coloring. The VFX swap fire particles for frost effects on Q and W. Disintegrate on Q fires an ice bolt. Incinerate on W fans out frost instead of flame. The color shift from orange to blue changes how Annie reads in lane. Enemies who dont play against Annie often might process the abilities a half-second slower because their brain expects fire, not ice.

Tibbers on R drops as a frost bear. The burning AOE around Tibbers becomes a frost aura instead. Still does the same damage obviously but the visual of an ice bear chasing people through a teamfight has a different energy than the standard fire version. Molten Shield on E wraps Annie in frost armor. No chromas. No new voice lines. Part of the Winter Wonder skinline. Permanent shop availability at 975 RP.

Where Frostfire fits in Annie’s catalog

Take this with a grain of salt but I think Frostfire Annie might be the most underrated skin in her catalog. Its not flashy. Its not new. But the complete color palette swap from fire to ice gives Annie a visual identity that none of her other skins replicate. Fright Night goes horror. Hextech goes steampunk. Frostfire goes elemental opposite. At 975 RP its cheaper than any of her Epic options and the VFX changes are real.

If you play Annie and you want something different without spending 1350 RP, Frostfire is the budget pick that punches above its weight class. The frost Tibbers alone is worth it. Took this into normals for a few games last week just to switch things up and the blue particles caught multiple people off guard in teamfights. Not bad for a 14-year-old skin.
