Locked in Astronaut Singed the day it hit the shop and honestly wasnt sure what to expect. Singed skins have always been a mixed bag for me. Some lean too hard into the goofy side, others feel like they forgot Singed exists entirely. This one landed somewhere I didn’t expect: genuinely clean. The space suit fits the character better than it has any right to, and running people down in lane while trailing cosmic poison gas behind you just hits different.

What Astronaut Singed actually brings to the table

The VFX rework is where the 1350 RP earns its keep. His Q trail swaps from the usual green toxic cloud to this glowing nebula-style gas, bluish-purple particles floating behind you as you proxy the wave. Looks fantastic when you’re running through the enemy jungle at full tilt. The Mega Adhesive on W got a space-goo treatment, kinda feels like you’re dropping some alien slime puddle on the Rift. Not sure if it’s just me but the W feels slightly more visible to enemies in this skin, which could be a minor competitive downside if you’re trying to catch someone off guard.

Fling on E keeps the astronaut theme with some particle dust on impact. Nothing groundbreaking but consistent. His ult activation has this pressurized suit effect, like the helmet seals and boosters kick in. Been running this in Diamond for maybe 40 games now and the ult visual is the kind of thing you notice every single time. Clean feedback loop.

Recall animation is solid. Singed plants a little flag on the ground, moon-landing style. Short and sweet. Voice lines stay base, no VO refresh, which is standard for an Epic tier skin. (Random aside: I keep wishing Riot would give Singed a legendary someday because the base voice pack is ancient at this point.)

The Astronauts line and where this skin fits

Astronaut Singed dropped February 24, 2023. Late season 13. Rio Sabda and Caravan Studio handled the artwork, and they captured the vibe perfectly. The splash has Singed floating in low gravity with his poison trail forming this cosmic cloud behind him. Strong composition.

The Astronauts skinline is one of Riot’s more consistent theme sets. Teemo, Corki, Bard, Veigar, Maokai – there’s a whole squad up there. Singed fits naturally because the suit silhouette works with his lanky frame. Most Astronaut skins lean cute. This one leans more functional, like an actual deep-space hazmat operator. The Astronauts line keeps growing and I think Singed is one of the better additions they’ve made to it.

8 chromas total. Obsidian goes full dark mode and honestly reads cleaner than the base in teamfights, especially against bright Rift backgrounds. Amethyst pushes the purple hard, pairs well with the poison trail theme. Rose Quartz is the wildcard pick – pinkish tone on Singed looks absurd but in a way that works if you’re the type to spam emote after a flip kill. Could be wrong here but I think Obsidian is the one most people gravitate toward. Rest are fine, nothing I’d specifically chase.

Is Astronaut Singed worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you play Singed with any regularity this is an easy buy. Shop has it, permanent availability, no vault nonsense. The VFX on Q alone justify the price because that’s what you’re staring at for 30 minutes every game. Proxy farming top lane at level 3 while the enemy jungler frantically pings – that whole experience just looks better with space gas trailing behind you.

Compared to Beekeeper Singed, which was my go-to for maybe two full seasons, Astronaut feels more polished on the particle side. Beekeeper has the meme factor and the honey trail is iconic. But Astronaut Singed is the one I keep coming back to since around patch 13.4. Last Thursday I played six ranked games in a row with it and didn’t swap once. That says something.

For Singed mains climbing through ranked this is a top pick. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Not the flashiest Epic in the game but solidly above average for the price point. Singed doesn’t have a legendary so this competes for best skin on the champion, and I think it’s right there with Beekeeper and Black Scourge depending on your taste. Skip the chromas bundle unless Obsidian specifically calls to you – just grab that one individually if anything.
