First time I saw this skin in champ select I thought someone was trolling. Nami wearing a spatula-wielding manatee costume? Ridiculous. Played against it in a Diamond ranked game last season and honestly could not stop laughing at the model. That was around 3 AM on a Tuesday and I lost lane partly because I kept zooming my camera in on the enemy support.
The Urf Costume and What Actually Changes
So Urf the Nami-tee is basically Nami in a full Urf the Manatee onesie. The head sits on top of hers like a hood, complete with the derpy Urf face. She carries around a spatula instead of her usual staff. Thats it. No new VFX on Q, W, E, or R. No new voice lines either – voice stays default. The recall animation is base Nami’s standard one.
For a 750 RP Standard tier skin, you’re getting a model swap and texture change. Nothing more. Could be wrong here but I think the spatula is what sells the whole thing. The way it bobs around during her idle animation just works. In teamfights you can still read her abilities fine, the bubble on Q looks the same, the tidal wave ult reads identically. No gameplay confusion.
Been running this in ranked for maybe 40 games total across two seasons. The model holds up surprisingly well for its age. Nami’s base silhouette stays readable in lane and the Urf hood doesn’t clip too badly during movement animations. One thing I noticed – the spatula catches light differently depending on which side of the Rift you’re on. Brighter on blue side. Small detail but it’s there.
The Urf the Manatee Skinline and Release
Urf the Nami-tee dropped March 31, 2015. Classic April Fools timing from Riot. The Urf the Manatee line is one of those novelty sets that Riot puts out for the yearly event. Some champs got better Urf skins than others.
No splash artist credited in the data for this one. The splash itself is fun though – Nami looking all proud in the costume. (Random aside: I used this splash as my Discord avatar for like three months and nobody recognized what champion it was.) The Urf the Manatee line has that goofy energy that works best on champs who are already playful. Nami fits that vibe naturally.
750 RP puts this in budget territory. Shop has it permanently, no vault nonsense. Zero chromas available which honestly makes sense for a joke skin at this price point. You get what you see.
Should You Pick Up Urf the Nami-tee?
Real verdict: this skin lives or dies on whether you think the Urf costume is funny. Not gonna lie, I do. The spatula alone carried my interest for weeks. But if you’re a Nami main looking for actual visual upgrades on abilities, skip this and save for something with new VFX. Cosmic Destiny or Bewitching both give you way more for your RP.
Urf the Nami-tee is a meme skin. 750 RP feels fair for what you get – a solid model change with a spatula and zero mechanical confusion in lane. I think its best as a flex pick when you want to tilt the enemy ADC with comedy. Locked this in during a promo game once and my jungler pinged me six times. Worth it. If you play Nami even occasionally and you like the Urf the Manatee aesthetic, the price is low enough that there’s no real reason not to grab it.
