Nightbringer Lee Sin

First time I saw Nightbringer Lee Sin in the loading screen I thought someone modded the game. The splash is that dramatic. Dark energy pouring off him, wings half-formed behind his back, the whole fallen angel look cranked to eleven. West Studio on the splash, they cooked. Locked in this skin for maybe 40 ranked games straight when it dropped in December 2019 and honestly the VFX alone carried my motivation through a rough losing streak.

What Nightbringer actually changes on the Blind Monk

This is a 1350 RP Epic tier skin so you get the full package: new model, new VFX on every ability, new recall animation. Voice lines stay base, no new VO. But the visual overhaul is significant enough that it doesnt matter much.

Q is the big one. Sonic Wave fires out as this dark red energy orb trailing black particles. When you land it and follow up with Resonating Strike the dash leaves a corruption trail behind you. Looks aggressive. Feels aggressive. In teamfights when you Q onto their backline ADC the impact reads so much cleaner than base Lee Sin. Been playing this in Diamond for a while now and I swear the Q hitbox looks different even though I know its identical.

W shield has this dark crimson barrier effect. Safeguard onto an ally and the connection between you two glows with that Nightbringer energy. Not the flashiest change but it reads well. E is where things get interesting though. Tempest slams down with dark matter radiating outward and Cripple pulses red across the ground. You know what surprised me? The E particles actually help me gauge the slow radius better than base.

R. The roundhouse kick. Honestly not gonna lie, the ult VFX on this skin might be the best part. Dragon’s Rage sends your target flying with a trail of dark energy and the impact on terrain or other champions has this satisfying burst of red and black. Pulled off an insec last Tuesday around 2 AM in a Diamond game and my duo literally said “that looked cinematic.” The recall animation has Lee Sin channeling Nightbringer power, dark wings forming behind him. Clean loop, not too long.

(Random aside: the in-game model’s hair looks way better than most Lee Sin skins. The dark flowing style actually fits the champion’s silhouette.)

The Nightbringer and Dawnbringer line

Nightbringer and Dawnbringer is one of Riot’s stronger thematic skinlines. The whole cosmic order versus chaos thing. Lee Sin fits the Nightbringer side naturally. A blind monk channeling dark primordial energy. Released December 12, 2019, late into season 9. The skinline already had Yasuo and Riven carrying it so Lee Sin joining felt like a solid addition.

No chromas on this one. Zero. Kinda feels like a missed opportunity since Nightbringer Lee Sin’s color palette could have gone in some cool directions. Imagine a white and gold variant flipping the whole aesthetic. But Riot decided against it. Permanent shop availability so you can grab it any time for 1350 RP.

Feodor Chin voices Lee Sin across all his skins. Same base VO here but the voice fits the darker theme surprisingly well. Those philosophical quotes about blindness hit different when your character model looks like a corrupted deity. Season 9 I think or 10 dont remember exactly, but the meta was heavy on Lee Sin jungle and this skin was everywhere in my games. Seen maybe 3 of these in my ranked games this season though. Most Lee Sin mains moved on to God Fist or Storm Dragon.

Should you pick up Nightbringer Lee Sin?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic skin that competes well against Lee Sin’s stacked wardrobe. The problem is Lee Sin has too many good skins. God Fist exists at Legendary tier. Storm Dragon exists. Muay Thai is the gameplay purist pick. Nightbringer Lee Sin sits in this weird spot where its genuinely good but faces absurd competition.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The Q and R VFX alone justify the price if you value visual impact during ganking and teamfight engages. Could be wrong here but I think this skin actually makes your combos feel smoother because the animations read so cleanly. Spammed this in Diamond during preseason and the dark energy trail on ward hops looked sick.

If you one-trick Lee Sin and already own God Fist, Nightbringer Lee Sin is a solid rotation pick for when you want something darker. If you’re buying your first Lee Sin skin ever, I’d point you toward Muay Thai for the clean animations or God Fist for the full Legendary experience. But Nightbringer holds its own. Top three Lee Sin Epic skins easy. Worth the RP if you main the Blind Monk and want that edgy cosmic energy in your jungle clear. Simple change from base – huge impact on how the champion feels in game.
