Firecracker Sett

First time I saw Firecracker Sett load into my game I thought someone modded in a fighting game character. The red and gold outfit, the firework particles on his fists. Riot went full Lunar New Year festival energy on this one and honestly it works. Been running this skin in Diamond since season 12 and the VFX alone make it feel like you’re punching harder. Placebo? Probably. But thats the point of a good skin.

What Firecracker Sett actually brings to the table

So this is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, which means new VFX and a new recall animation. Voice lines stay base, no filter either. Standard for the price point.

The Q is where it starts getting noticeable. Your empowered punches light up with firecracker sparks, red and gold bursts on each hit. Feels cleaner than base Sett’s effects and reads well in lane. Your W, the Haymaker, launches this massive firework explosion forward. Not gonna lie, the center true damage zone looks way more satisfying with the Firecracker particles compared to base. You see that golden burst and you just know the enemy ADC felt it.

E pulls enemies in with these streamer-like red trails. Subtle change but it looks clean. R is the showstopper though. You suplex someone and fireworks literally go off on impact. Played maybe 40 games in a row one weekend when this dropped and every single ult felt like a celebration. Trapped their Jinx in dragon pit last Tuesday around midnight, slammed her into the wall, and the firework explosion synced with the dragon going down. Peak League moment.

The recall has Sett doing this whole martial arts demonstration with firework effects going off around him. Short and punchy, fits the theme. Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack animations feel slightly snappier too, might just be the visual feedback tricking my brain.

Lunar Revel origins and the splash

Firecracker Sett dropped January 26, 2022. Part of the Lunar Revel: Firecracker skinline, which Riot rolls out every year for Lunar New Year. The Firecracker line has been going for a while now and Sett fits it naturally. Brawler energy meets festival energy.

Augusto Quirino and West Studio handled the artwork on the splash. They cooked. Sett’s standing there mid-punch with fireworks exploding behind him, traditional red outfit with gold trim. The composition puts the focus right on his fists which is exactly what you want for this champion. (Random aside: this splash was my Discord profile pic for like three months straight.)

9 chromas available total. Obsidian is my personal pick, turns the whole outfit dark and the contrast with the firework effects hits different in game. Golden Tiger is the exclusive one from the event, orange and green combo that reads really well on the Rift. Amethyst shifts everything purple which kinda feels like it belongs in a different skinline entirely but some people swear by it. The rest are fine but those three carry.

Is Firecracker Sett worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a solid Epic skin. Not the flashiest Sett skin ever made but the VFX quality is above average for 1350. The firework theme gives every ability this satisfying pop that base Sett just doesnt have. If you main Sett and you’re looking for something that feels good to play without dropping Legendary money, this is it.

Fair warning though. Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it any time. Hextech only these days unless Riot brings it back for Lunar New Year events. Been maining Sett with this for three seasons now and I keep coming back to it over Mecha Kingdoms and even Spirit Blossom sometimes. The VFX are just that clean.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New particles on every ability, solid recall, good splash, nine chromas if you want variety. Skip it if you already have a Legendary Sett skin you love, but for mains who want a reliable Epic in the rotation, Firecracker Sett earns its spot. Top pick for Sett mains who like their teamfight engages to look like a light show. Could be coping but I think the W animation specifically is the best of any Sett skin at this price tier, the firework burst just reads perfectly in a comp where you need to peel for your backline.
