Battle Queen Fiora

First game I loaded Battle Queen Fiora into was a Diamond 2 ranked match around 11 PM on a Thursday. Picked her blind into what turned out to be a Darius lane. Terrible draft decision but the skin looked so clean during the loading screen I honestly didnt care. The splash caught me off guard when it first hit PBE, and seeing it full size on my monitor confirmed it. Jiunn Kuo and Kudos Productions put in the work here. Regal, sharp, the kind of splash you actually pause on.

How Battle Queen Fiora plays different

For an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, the VFX package carries hard. Fiora’s Q lunge trails this crystalline shimmer that reads beautifully against the Rift. Not subtle. You notice it immediately during laning phase when you’re poking with Q to proc vitals. The passive vital markers themselves got the Battle Queens treatment with that signature gemstone glow.

W riposte is where I think the skin shines most. The parry animation has this stained-glass energy barrier effect. Feels heavier than base. Been running this in ranked since it dropped and every time I block a Malphite ult or a Renekton W with it, the visual payoff hits different. Solid stuff.

E auto resets feel crisp. No new VO, which is expected at this price point. Karen Strassman’s base voice lines still work fine with the aesthetic honestly. The recall animation is new though, and it fits the royal Battle Queens theme. Fiora does this fencing salute with the crystallized blade before a chess piece materializes. Short, clean, not overdone.

Kinda feels like the R Grand Challenge proc VFX could have been pushed further. The healing zone looks nice enough but compared to something like Divine Sword Fiora’s ult zone, it reads a bit flat. Not a dealbreaker. Just something I noticed after maybe 40 games with the skin over two weeks.

The Battle Queens line and release context

Battle Queen Fiora released August 28, 2024. Late season 14. The Battle Queens skinline already had heavy hitters like Battle Queen Katarina and Battle Queen Diana, so Fiora had expectations to meet. Could be wrong here but I think she fits the line better than most. The fencing fantasy maps perfectly onto the chess-royalty theme Riot built for Battle Queens.

8 chromas total for this one. Obsidian is my personal pick, the dark blade with gold trim looks menacing in splitpush scenarios where you’re just 1v1 dueling in a side lane. Tanzanite goes full purple mage aesthetic which is weird on Fiora but somehow works. Pearl is the cleanest if you want something light and elegant.

(Random aside: the Tanzanite chroma on this skin became my desktop wallpaper for like a month before I switched back to the base splash.)

Should you pick up Battle Queen Fiora?

Real verdict: Fiora has a stacked skin catalog. Project, Pulsefire, IG, Soaring Sword. Competition is fierce. Battle Queen Fiora holds its own though. The VFX are clean, the theme fits naturally, and the chromas give you range if the base colors dont click for you.

Not gonna lie, I keep coming back to this skin over Pulsefire in my rotation. Something about the Q trail and W parry visuals just feel right for how I play Fiora in Diamond. Lots of short trades pre-6, then looking for the all-in when ult comes up. The visual clarity on vital procs matters when you’re trying to hit all four in a teamfight dive on their backline.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Not the best Fiora skin full stop, that’s still a debate between this and IG depending on your taste. But if you main Fiora and want something that reads royal without going overboard, Battle Queen Fiora earns the price. Skip it if you already own three or four Fiora skins and your wallet is hurting. Pick it up if you’ve been looking for a new one to lock in this season. Been maining Fiora with this since September 2024 and it hasnt left my favorites tab.
