Pentakill III: Lost Chapter Yorick

Been maining Yorick on and off since season 8 and I gotta say, when Pentakill III: Lost Chapter Yorick dropped I wasnt expecting much. Yorick doesn’t get skins often. Like at all. So when Riot announced the Lost Chapter album event back in 2021, seeing Yorick on the roster felt like a small miracle for anyone who plays this champion. First game I loaded into with it, around 1 AM on a Thursday, the splash alone had me sold.

What the skin actually brings to the table

Pentakill III: Lost Chapter Yorick turns the gravedigger into a full-on metal frontman. The model redesign leans heavy into the rock fantasy. Yorick’s shovel becomes this massive glowing guitar-axe hybrid, and his Mist Walkers get a spectral concert vibe going. Not gonna lie, the ghouls look way better than base. They have this greenish-purple energy trail that reads clean in teamfights when you’re splitpushing a side lane.

The Q hits feel weighty. New VFX on Last Rites gives the impact a burst of stage-light particles. W creates this wall of spectral amps, which is a nice touch. Could be wrong here but I think the E mark looks slightly different too, more of a neon skull projection on the target. Maiden gets the biggest glow-up. She floats around with this ethereal rock goddess energy, trailing musical notes and purple flames.

New recall animation is clean. Yorick shreds on his weapon like a guitar, crowd-surfing ghouls appear. Short and punchy. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is expected at 1350 RP for an Epic skin. Daniel Riordan’s base performance still carries hard enough that it doesnt feel like a miss.

(Random sidebar for Yorick one-tricks: the Maiden being visible through fog of war with this skin’s VFX might actually be slightly more noticeable to enemies. Played maybe 40 games with it in Diamond and I swear people react to her faster. Could be coping but keep it in mind.)

Pentakill III: Lost Chapter Yorick released September 9, 2021. Part of the Pentakill III: The Lost Chapter event that came with a whole virtual album. Riot went big on this one. Terence ‘Terrylefruit’ Cantal and West Studio handled the artwork, and they cooked. The splash captures Yorick mid-performance with the Maiden looming behind him in this massive concert arena setting.

The Pentakill III: The Lost Chapter skinline hit different from the original Pentakill releases. More polished, bigger VFX budgets across the board. Mordekaiser, Sona, and Yorick all got entries. Yorick fits the metal aesthetic naturally, the whole gravedigger-necromancer thing translates perfectly into a death metal vocalist.

8 chromas total if you want variety. Obsidian is my pick, goes full blackout and the dark particles against the Rift just pop. Tanzanite leans into a deep purple that matches the Pentakill III branding really well. Pearl exists for people who want the clean white look but honestly its not my thing on Yorick specifically. Should you buy Pentakill III: Lost Chapter Yorick?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic for a champion that barely gets attention. Grinded ranked with this skin for most of season 12 and it held up. The VFX on ghouls and Maiden alone justify the price, and the recall is a fun bonus. Yorick mains dont have a ton of options. Meowrick is the meme pick, Arclight exists, Resistance is decent. But Pentakill III: Lost Chapter Yorick I think edges them out if you want something that feels premium without dropping Legendary money.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Not the flashiest skin in the game but for a champion with maybe six skins total, this is S-tier Yorick cosmetic territory. Kinda feels like Riot actually cared about making Yorick look good here instead of just checking a box. That ranked game last season where my Maiden solo-killed their ADC under tower looked ten times cooler with the Lost Chapter VFX. Lock it in if you play Yorick at all.
