First time I saw Sasquatch Nunu & Willump in a loading screen I genuinely thought someone was running an unmodified base skin with a weird color filter. Took me a second look. The splash told a different story though, and after locking it in for a few ARAM games last season I started to appreciate what this skin actually is: a 2009 relic that leans hard into the cryptid fantasy without trying too hard.

What Sasquatch Nunu & Willump actually changes

Real talk though, this is a Standard tier skin at 520 RP, so temper your expectations. Willump gets a brown fur recolor that makes him look like a proper Pacific Northwest bigfoot instead of the usual yeti. Darker tones across the body, more earth-colored. Nunu himself gets adjusted clothing to match the woodsy vibe. No new VFX on Q, W, E, or R. Voice stays default. No recall animation changes either.

The texture work is from 2009 and it shows. Polygon count is low, the fur reads flat in certain lighting on the Rift. But honestly? In motion during a teamfight nobody is inspecting Willump’s fur density. Been running this in my Diamond games when I want something lowkey for Nunu & Willump and it does the job. The brown palette blends into the river and jungle camps in a way that feels almost tactical (random aside: my duo swears the brown makes Willump harder to spot during ganking near dragon pit).

Not gonna lie, the model has aged. Compared to something like Space Groove Nunu & Willump this looks like a different game entirely. But thats part of the charm for collectors. Simple change – big mood shift.

The Fables line and where this skin fits

Sasquatch Nunu & Willump dropped November 20, 2009. Season one wasn’t even a thing yet. Markus Neidel handled the artwork, and for the era the splash holds up decent. Pre-rework Nunu was a different champion entirely so this skin has been through the visual update grinder.

Part of the Fables skinline which is one of Riot’s older thematic collections. Think folklore and myth creatures. The sasquatch concept fits Nunu & Willump naturally since Willump is already a giant furry beast. Kinda feels like this was the obvious skin to make for the champion back then. Zero chromas available for this one.

Legacy vault skin so you cant just grab it from the shop whenever. Gotta wait for a Legacy sale rotation or get lucky with Hextech crafting. Seen maybe two of these in my games all of last season, probably less. Around 2 AM one Tuesday I ran into another Sasquatch Nunu & Willump in an ARAM and we both spammed emotes at each other the entire game. Rare skin solidarity.

Should you pick up Sasquatch Nunu & Willump?

Verdict time. 520 RP is cheap even by Standard skin pricing. The problem is getting your hands on it since its Legacy. If you main Nunu & Willump and want something different from the base without going full legendary price, this works. The brown fur bigfoot look is distinct enough in lane and jungle clear that people will notice you’re not on default.

I think for Nunu & Willump one-tricks this is more of a collection piece than a daily driver. Space Groove and Papercraft both offer way more for the money with actual VFX and recall changes. But if you roll Sasquatch from a chest? Keep it. 520 RP value, vintage status, Fables skinline membership. Could be wrong here but I feel like these old Legacy skins only get harder to find over time. Worth holding onto for Nunu & Willump mains who want the full set.
