The Winterblessed event dropped December 6, 2023 and Annie was one of the first skins I grabbed that patch. Stayed up until like 2 AM watching the notes go live, saw the splash, added to cart immediately. That sounds impulsive but the splash really does carry here: Tibbers wrapped in ice and winter regalia, Annie with that hollow-eyed expression that somehow gets more unsettling when you surround her in holiday colors. Strong first impression for an Epic.

What Winterblessed Annie actually changes

The VFX package is the centerpiece. Her Q – Disintegrate – fires with a frost crystal shape now, white-blue particle trail instead of orange fire. Lands cleaner in mid lane poke situations too, honestly. The W, Incinerate, gets a similar winter sparkle treatment: still reads as a clear AOE in teamfights but the color shift makes it feel thematically tight across the full kit.

Tibbers is where the skin earns its price. The R ult summons a bear that looks like a cursed holiday mascot – blue-tinged fire, frost particles orbiting the model. Not sure if it’s just me but the Tibbers model reads bigger in this skin, probably the ice framing effect on the edges. The E’s Molten Shield wraps Annie in frost particles too. Every ability touched. That’s the full VFX package for 1350 RP and Riot delivered on it.

Recall is custom. Annie skates briefly on a patch of ice while Tibbers lumbers alongside her. Maybe 6 seconds total. Loops cleanly and the sound design fits the winter aesthetic without being overbearing. No new VO – base voice lines only, which is standard for this Epic tier and expected at this price point.

The Winterblessed line and how Annie fits it

Winterblessed is Riot’s winter-fantasy alternate universe – darker than the Snow Day stuff, more folk fable than sitcom. Been playing the Winterblessed Warwick skin since it launched and Annie slots into this skinline better than most of the roster. The cozy-horror tension is a natural fit for a champion whose entire identity is a small child with a bear that can delete backlines in one ult proc.

Exia Xiaotong and West Studio handled the splash. They went hard on it – the lighting on Tibbers specifically is the kind of work you actually stop and study before locking in. (Sidebar: this splash has been my phone wallpaper since that December and I have not changed it once.)

The skinline is permanent shop. No vault rotation. Winterblessed Annie sits in regular stock whenever you decide to grab it.

Nine chromas, a few worth picking specifically

There’s 9 chromas total in this set. Most do color-swap work across the model but a few are worth singling out. Obsidian pushes Annie into full dark-winter territory: the bear goes near-black, particles shift cold. Looks cleaner than the concept sounds, honestly. Wreathguard splits red and green across the model – the most on-the-nose holiday pick in the batch – and it works better than it should at that level of literalism.

My go-to is Sapphire. Deep blue palette doesnt fight the frost VFX on Q and W, everything reads as a cohesive visual set. Feels like it was designed with the particle work in mind specifically rather than as a generic recolor.

Is Winterblessed Annie worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: yes, for Annie mains. VFX changes hit Q, W, E, and R, Tibbers looks legitimately good, and the recall is a clean bonus on top of all that. Grinded Diamond mid with this last January across maybe 40 games and never got tired of watching the Tibbers animation on R proc. That’s the actual test for a skin – whether you stop noticing it or keep noticing it.

If you play Annie occasionally or as a pocket pick, hold off and catch an Epic sale. But for one-tricks and regular Annie climbers, Winterblessed Annie earns the full 1350 RP. Sitting in the shop right now, permanent stock.
