Void Fizz

First time I saw Void Fizz in a loading screen I thought someone modded their client. The purple and black color scheme on a champion that’s usually bright and playful just hits completely different. Been running this skin in Diamond for a while now and it still catches people off guard in champ select. Not gonna lie, the Void aesthetic on Fizz feels like it shouldnt work but it absolutely does.

How the Void changes Fizz

The base model swaps Fizz’s usual teal amphibian look for this corrupted Void creature design. Deep purple skin, glowing eyes, those spiky growths running down his back. Looks like something Vel’Koz would keep as a pet. The trident gets a Void makeover too, sharper and more alien.

VFX are where the 1350 RP really shows up. His Q dash leaves a purple trail that lingers just long enough to notice. W proc has this sick Void energy burst, almost like the weapon is eating whatever it touches. E is the standout for me though. The playful trickster hop becomes this dark portal effect, the splash zone on landing reads way cleaner than base in teamfights. Played maybe 40 games last month with this and the E particles never got old.

R is solid. Void shark instead of the regular one. Bigger teeth, darker coloring, the whole Void corruption thing. When it pops up to eat someone in a late-game teamfight the visual is genuinely menacing. Could be wrong here but I think the R indicator on the ground is slightly more visible than base, which actually matters when you’re trying to zone the backline.

Recall animation is custom. Fizz does this thing where he summons a small Void portal. Clean and quick. Voice lines stay base, no changes there, which is fine because Fizz’s base VO already has enough personality. Standard voice, no new lines.

Curse of the Void and the 2014 release

Void Fizz dropped April 6, 2014. Season 4 era, back when Fizz mid was genuinely terrifying to lane against. The Curse of the Void skinline is one of Riot’s smaller thematic lines but it captures that alien horror vibe well. Kha’Zix and Kassadin fit the Void naturally but putting Fizz in this line was a creative choice that paid off.

No splash artist credited in the data which is a shame because whoever painted it went hard. The splash shows Fizz emerging from this purple Void rift, trident raised, with that predatory stance. (Random aside: I used this splash as my Discord avatar for like three months in season 10 I think.) The composition is aggressive compared to most Fizz splashes where he’s being goofy or playful.

No chromas available for this one. Kinda feels like Riot forgot about it since 2014 skins dont always get the chroma treatment later. Would love an Obsidian or Pearl variant but thats probably never happening at this point.

Should you lock in Void Fizz for 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic skin that holds up despite being over a decade old. The VFX refresh it got keeps it competitive with newer 1350 RP releases. I’ve seen maybe five other Void Fizz players in my Diamond games all season, so you won’t be running into yourself every other match.

If you’re a Fizz one-trick deciding between this and Super Galaxy or Omega Squad, it depends on your vibe. Super Galaxy is flashier and more modern. Omega Squad has the military theme going. Void Fizz is for the players who want their assassin to actually look threatening instead of cute. Best skin for Fizz mains who want edge without going full meme like Cottontail.

Shop has it permanently. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get, especially the E and R particles. Skip if you already own Omega Squad and only play Fizz occasionally, but for anyone spamming him in ranked or climbing through mid lane with the fish, Void Fizz earns its price. Last Tuesday I had a game where I dove their Lux pre-6 with this skin on and the Void shark execute felt personal. That’s the energy this skin brings.
