First Malzahar skin I ever saw in game was this one. Back in like season 2, maybe season 3, some dude in my ranked lobby locked in Malzahar with this golden turban look and I genuinely thought it was a different champion for a second. Vizier Malzahar has that old school Riot charm where the concept is simple but it just works. No flashy particles, no new animations. Just a clean outfit swap that makes Malzahar look like he belongs in some ancient palace instead of floating around the Void.

What Vizier Malzahar actually changes

Real talk though. This is a 520 RP Standard tier skin from 2010. You’re getting a model swap and thats about it. Malzahar trades his purple Void robes for a gold and white vizier outfit. The turban is the centerpiece here, gives him this royal advisor vibe that fits the Wonders of the World skinline pretty well.

No new VFX on Q, W, E, or R. Voice lines stay base. Voidlings look the same. His ult still has the default suppression beam. Not gonna lie, for a skin this old you kind of expect that, but it still reads clean on the Rift. The gold trim catches light differently than base Malzahar and in teamfights you can actually distinguish this skin from the default pretty easily. Small thing but it matters when you’re trying to track the enemy Malzahar in a chaotic 5v5.

Played maybe 30 games with this one back when I was climbing through Gold. The lack of new particles never bothered me because Malzahar’s base kit VFX are already solid. Your E still spreads, your W still spawns voidlings, your R still locks someone down. The skin doesnt change your gameplay loop at all, which for some mains is exactly the point.

The Wonders of the World line and release context

Vizier Malzahar dropped June 1, 2010. Season 1 era. Wild times. The Wonders of the World skinline is one of those early Riot thematic sets that pulled from real world history and mythology. Vizier fits that perfectly – the title literally means a high-ranking political advisor in Ottoman and other Islamic empires. Riot did their homework on this one, at least conceptually.

No chromas for this skin. Given the age and price point that makes sense. 520 RP is about as cheap as skins get these days. (Random aside: I kind of miss when 520 RP skins were the norm instead of everything being 1350 minimum.)

This one sits in the Legacy vault. Hextech only these days unless Riot decides to crack open the vault for some event. Been seeing fewer and fewer of these in my Diamond games, maybe spotted one last March during that Legacy sale Riot ran. Most Malzahar mains have moved on to flashier options like Battle Boss or Hextech Malzahar.

Should you pick up Vizier Malzahar?

Straight talk: if you’re a Malzahar one-trick looking to collect every skin, Vizier is a must-have for the collection. 520 RP feels fair for what you get. The gold and white color scheme is unique in his skin pool and nothing else in his lineup hits quite the same aesthetic. Could be wrong here but I think this might age into “rare flex” territory as fewer players have it.

For everyone else? Skip this unless you already main him and want variety in your rotation. Malzahar has better options at higher price points with actual new VFX. But there’s something about loading into lane with a skin from 2010 that just hits different. Pre-6 you’re farming with your E like normal, post-6 you’re ulting their ADC in a golden turban. Legacy vault skin, simple change – huge impact on the drip factor. Keep coming back to this one every few months just for the nostalgia of it all.
