Victorious Lucian

Played my Gold promos four times in season 10 just to lock this skin in. Not gonna lie, the grind was worth it for Victorious Lucian alone. The moment you load into a game wearing this, people know you earned something that year. Thats the whole point of the Victorious line and Lucian wears it well.

What Victorious Lucian actually brings

The base model swaps Lucian’s usual dark leather for royal blue and gold armor plating. Crown motifs everywhere. His guns get the gold treatment too, and they catch light in a way that reads clean from the standard camera angle. Voice lines stay base, no VO refresh here, but the visual package does enough heavy lifting.

New VFX across the board. Q piercing light comes through in bright gold instead of the usual white-blue. W gets a starburst pattern with the Victorious crest baked in. Been running this in Diamond for a while now and the E dash particles feel crisp, the gold trail behind you during trades makes repositioning look intentional even when you panic-dash into three people. Ult channels golden bolts that pop against darker Rift terrain. Simple change – huge impact on how the abilities read in teamfight chaos.

The recall animation is custom too. Lucian kneels with both guns planted, this victory salute kind of pose with golden energy swirling around him. Short, clean, not over the top. Fits the ranked reward fantasy without being obnoxious about it (random aside: I’ve seen maybe 4 of these in my games all of last season, which makes it feel rarer than it probably is).

Season 10 reward and the Victorious skinline

Victorious Lucian dropped November 11, 2020. End of season 10. Francis Tneh and West Studio handled the artwork, they captured the “I just hit Gold” energy perfectly in the splash. The Victorious line has been going since Jarvan IV back in season 1, and Lucian fits it naturally. ADC mains finally got their ranked reward after years of tops and supports getting the Victorious treatment.

Five chromas tied to your peak rank that season. Platinum gets the green tint, Diamond shifts to ice blue, Master goes purple, Grandmaster hits that deep red, and Challenger is the royal blue variant. Could be wrong here but I think the Diamond chroma actually looks cleaner than base. The ice blue on gold contrast just works better in lane.

This is a vault skin. You cant buy it. If you hit Gold or above in ranked during season 10, you got it. If you didnt, its gone. Hextech only these days if you’re lucky enough to roll it from a chest, which I’ve seen happen exactly once in my friend group around 3 AM on a Tuesday last year.

Should you care about Victorious Lucian?

Real verdict: this is one of the better Victorious skins Riot has put out. The VFX actually change how Lucian feels to play. Not dramatically, but enough that you notice after 20 or 30 games. The gold particle work on Q poke specifically reads so much better than base when you’re harassing in bot lane.

If you have it, use it. There’s something about loading into a ranked game on Lucian with the Grandmaster chroma that just sets the tone. Been daily driving this over High Noon some weeks and I keep coming back to it. Skip this section if you dont own it because there’s no way to get it reliably anymore. For the Lucian mains who ground out Gold that season, top pick for showing you put in the work. The Victorious line carries weight that purchased skins just dont have.
