First time I saw PROJECT: Jinx load into a game I honestly thought it was a Legendary for about ten seconds. The model is that clean. Locked this in back in August 2019 when it dropped and the splash alone had me sold before I even saw the in-game model. Been running Jinx as my secondary ADC pick in Diamond for a while now and this skin just feels right in a way thats hard to explain.
How PROJECT: Jinx actually looks in game
The whole cyberpunk aesthetic fits Jinx better than you’d expect. Her minigun Pow-Pow gets this sleek mech-arm redesign with glowing orange accents, and Fishbones transforms into a proper PROJECT-style rocket launcher. VFX on her Q swap between weapons have that signature orange-and-white particle effect the PROJECT line is known for. Clean stuff.
Her W, Zap, fires a concentrated beam that reads way better in lane than the base skin version. Not gonna lie, I think the projectile is slightly easier to track for both you and the enemy, which is a trade-off. Her E chompers drop with new tech-styled animations, hexagonal grid patterns on the ground. Looks sharp in teamfights when you’re zoning the backline.
The R is where it really pops. Super Mega Death Rocket gets this massive orange energy trail that lights up the Rift. Sniped a low-health Ezreal across mid last Thursday around 11 PM with it and the visual payoff was incredible. The recall animation has Jinx interacting with her weapons in that PROJECT cyborg style, sitting down and tinkering. No new voice lines though, voice stays default. For an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP that’s expected.
Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack animations feel slightly smoother too. Might be placebo. Played maybe 40 games with this skin the first two weeks it came out and my cs numbers didnt change so take that how you will.
The PROJECT line and who made this
PROJECT is one of Riot’s biggest skinlines at this point. Jinx joins the roster alongside champions like Vayne, Irelia, Akali. The cyberpunk augmented-human theme works across the board but some champions wear it better than others. Jinx is one of the better fits. The chaotic energy of her kit matches the high-tech aesthetic without feeling forced.
Viktor Titov and Grafit Studio handled the artwork. They cooked on this one. The splash has Jinx mid-action with both weapons visible, neon city backdrop, the whole vibe. (Random aside: I had this as my desktop wallpaper for like three months straight before switching to the Arcane stuff.)
Released August 1, 2019, mid-season 9. Shop has it permanently, 1350 RP. Standard Epic pricing. 8 chromas total if you want variety. Obsidian goes full dark mode which reads really well against the Rift’s color palette. Reckoning has this orange-and-teal contrast that honestly might be the best looking variant. Pearl is clean too if you want that white-on-white futuristic look. The rest are solid but those three stood out to me after cycling through them in practice tool.
Where PROJECT: Jinx sits in the Jinx skin lineup
Real talk though, Jinx has a stacked skin catalog. Star Guardian is the popular pick, Arcane skins have the hype factor, and Firecracker Jinx exists for the flashy crowd. PROJECT: Jinx fills a different niche. It’s the clean, no-nonsense option. No over-the-top theme, no event tie-in baggage. Just a well-executed cyberpunk ADC skin.
Been maining Jinx with this skin on and off since season 9 I think, and keep coming back to it over newer releases. The VFX clarity in teamfights is genuinely good. When you’re kiting three people in a late-game comp and need to track your own abilities, the orange particles stand out without being distracting. That matters when you’re trying to peel for yourself with E while repositioning.
Straight talk: 1350 RP feels fair for what you get here. New model, new VFX across all abilities, solid recall, 8 chromas for customization. Kinda feels like one of those skins that doesn’t get talked about enough because it’s not Legendary tier and doesn’t have a massive event behind it. But for Jinx mains who want something clean for ranked, this is a top three pick. Maybe just my experience but the skin ages well too. Four years later and the model still holds up against newer Epic skins. Worth it if you play Jinx regularly, easy skip if you already own Star Guardian or the Arcane line.
