Pretty Kitty Rengar

First time I saw Pretty Kitty Rengar loading in on the enemy team I thought someone was trolling. Big scary knife cat wearing a pink onesie with cat ears. Took me a second to process. Then he one-shot our ADC from a bush and I stopped laughing real quick. Thats the whole appeal of this skin honestly: you get deleted by a house cat in pajamas and you cant even be mad about it.

The cat costume treatment

Pretty Kitty Rengar turns the Pridestalker into something straight out of a cat cafe fever dream. Full pink bodysuit, little paw mittens on his hands, a bell collar, and those oversized cat ears sitting on top of his hood. The bonetooth necklace? Replaced with fish bones. Incredible detail.

VFX got the pastel treatment across the board. His Q proc leaves these sparkly pink trails, and the empowered version has this bright magenta slash that reads cleanly in teamfights. W pops with hearts and stars. Not gonna lie, the E bola looks like a ball of yarn and I’ve watched it kill people in slow motion replays more times than I should admit.

The recall is where Riot went all in. Rengar pulls out a scratching post and goes to town on it like an actual cat. Kinda feels like the animation team had way too much fun with this one. Been running this in Diamond for a couple seasons now and the recall BM after securing a kill in the jungle never gets old. Last Saturday around midnight I got a quadra with this skin on and the post-game lobby was just question marks.

Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Standard for a 1350 RP Epic. The base Rengar voice still works though because hearing “tonight we hunt” while dressed as a kitten is comedy gold on its own.

Cats Versus Dogs and the splash

Part of the Cats Versus Dogs skinline from March 27, 2019. Late season 9 if I remember right. The whole event was Riot leaning into the pet fantasy hard. Rengar fits the cat side perfectly for obvious reasons.

Choe HeonHwa nailed the splash. Rengar mid-pounce in the full kitty outfit with that manic grin. The composition captures exactly what playing this skin feels like: absurd violence wrapped in a cute package.

7 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to because black cat Rengar just hits different for the edgy assassin vibe. Rose Quartz leans harder into the kawaii direction if thats your thing. Pearl goes almost white and clean, reads well against the Rift. The rest are fine but those three cover the range you’d actually want. (Random aside: I use Obsidian specifically because my duo calls it “void cat” and I think that’s hilarious.)

Should you lock in Pretty Kitty Rengar?

Real verdict: this is the funniest Rengar skin and one of the better Epics in his lineup. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX, solid recall animation, a complete model overhaul that commits fully to the bit. Could be wrong here but I think this skin actually tilts opponents harder than Headhunter or Mecha just because of the disrespect factor. Getting ganked pre-6 by a cat in a onesie is psychologically devastating.

For Rengar mains who want the tryhard aesthetic, Night Hunter or Headhunter exist. But if you one-trick Rengar and want something that makes people type in all chat after you leap from a bush, Pretty Kitty Rengar is the pick. Been maybe 40 or 50 games deep with this one this season alone and I keep coming back. Shop has it, permanent availability, no vault nonsense.

Skip it if you need your assassin to look intimidating. Pick it up if you understand that the funniest skins are the best skins. Simple choice – huge impact on your lane opponent’s mental state. Worth 1350 RP if you main Rengar, easy.
