iG Fiora

Been maining Fiora on and off since season 7, and when the 2018 Worlds skins dropped I knew this one was going straight into rotation. iG Fiora caught my eye immediately. Not because it reinvents Fiora or anything wild like that. Just a clean execution of a team skin that actually fits the champion. TheShy earned this one, and Riot delivered something worth locking in.

What the skin actually changes

So the model swap puts Fiora in the black and white iG jersey-inspired outfit. Sleek. The sword gets a redesign with the iG logo worked into the guard, which is a nice touch you mostly notice in the splash and during recall. Could be wrong here but I think the blade has a slight glow effect in certain lighting on Summoner’s Rift that the base doesnt have.

VFX got updated. Her Q lunge leaves a crisp white trail, and the Vitals proc with this sharp blue-white burst that reads really well in lane. Especially during trades pre-6 when you’re dancing around trying to hit those passive marks. The W riposte has a clean particle effect too, nothing over the top but distinct enough that your opponent knows they just got parried.

Ult is where it shines though. Grand Challenge procs feel satisfying with the iG-themed particles, and the healing zone has this subtle white glow. Played maybe 40 games with this skin last season in Diamond and the VFX never got old. Simple change – huge impact on how the kit feels.

New recall animation ties it together. Fiora does this fencing pose with the iG logo appearing behind her. Standard Worlds skin recall energy. Voice lines stay base, which is expected for a 1350 RP Epic tier skin. No VO refresh here.

The Worlds 2018 line and release context

iG Fiora dropped April 23, 2019 as part of the World Champions: 2018 skinline. The whole set celebrates Invictus Gaming’s championship run. Pan Chengwei handled the artwork, and honestly the splash is one of the better Worlds skin splashes. Fiora looks composed and dangerous, which tracks for TheShy’s playstyle (random aside: I watched that finals live at 3 AM and TheShy’s Fiora games were insane).

The World Champions: 2018 line has some solid entries across the board. iG Fiora sits comfortably in the upper half. 1350 RP is the asking price. Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it whenever you want. Gotta wait for Worlds events or get lucky with Hextech crafting.

There’s 2 chromas available. The Tenfold Triumph version goes red and gold, which gives it this almost Lunar New Year vibe. The Elite chroma swaps to blue and gold. I think the Tenfold Triumph chroma actually pops harder than the base colorway in game. The red reads well against the Rift greens.

Is iG Fiora worth picking up?

Real verdict: if you play Fiora regularly and you like clean, understated skins, iG Fiora is a strong pickup. It’s not competing with the flashiness of PROJECT Fiora or the elegance of Soaring Sword. Different lane entirely. This one is for the players who appreciate esports history and want something that looks sharp without being distracting during splitpush sessions.

Kinda feels like Riot put extra care into the Fiora and Camille skins from this set. Not sure if it’s just me but the VFX work on iG Fiora feels a tier above what you’d expect from a Worlds skin. Been running this as my secondary Fiora skin since around season 10 I think, swapping between this and Pool Party depending on mood.

The Legacy availability is the main catch. You cant just buy it on a random Tuesday night after a ranked session. Worth it if you main Fiora and catch it during a vault opening. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Skip it if you already own three or four Fiora skins and dont care about the esports angle. But for Fiora one-tricks who were watching Worlds 2018? Lock it in when it shows up.
