All League of Legends Skins

Been playing League since season 3. Thats over a decade of watching Riot pump out skins, rework splash art, introduce new tiers, lock stuff behind Mythic Essence, and generally make it impossible to keep track of what exists. At some point around season 12 I started keeping a spreadsheet. Champion, skin name, price, release date, whether it had chromas. Just for my own reference because I kept buying duplicates through Hextech crafting and not realizing I already owned something. The spreadsheet grew. Friends started asking for the link. So here we are.

1899 skins. That's the current count as of 2026. Across 172 champions and 220 skinlines. Not gonna lie, even I didn't expect it to be that high until I actually pulled the data from Riot's API and counted. Every single one is cataloged here with splash art, RP price, release date, chroma availability, skinline info, and my actual opinions on whether its worth your money. No generic "this skin is great!" fluff. Real talk from someone who's spent way too much on this game.

If you main one champion and want to see every skin option, we got you. If you're chasing a specific skinline across multiple champs, that works too. Filter by tier if you only care about Legendaries. Or just browse. Spent a lot of late nights building this out and I think it covers everything a skin collector or casual buyer needs before dropping RP.

Browse Skins by Tier

Riot's tier system has gotten more complicated over the years. Back in season 4 you had cheap skins and expensive skins. Simple. Now there's like seven distinct categories and some of them you cant even buy with RP. Here's the breakdown of what we're working with.

Standard skins make up a big chunk of the database at 638 total. These are your 390 to 975 RP range. Model swaps, texture changes, sometimes a new weapon or outfit. No new particles, no new voice lines. Honest skins for honest prices. Some of them are genuinely clean. Played a stretch of games with Assassin Master Yi last season and forgot I wasn't using a 1350 skin half the time.

Epic skins are the bread and butter. 966 of them. The 1350 RP tier. New model, new VFX on abilities, custom recall animation. This is where most of Riot's output lands these days and the quality floor keeps rising. Kinda feels like the 2024-2025 Epics would have been Legendary tier in 2018.

Legendary skins hit different. 121 in the database. Full visual overhaul, new voice lines, new animations. 1820 RP. The gap between a good Legendary and a bad one is massive though. Spirit Guard Udyr felt groundbreaking in 2013. Some recent Legendaries make it look like a 520 RP skin. (sidebar: I still think High Noon Lucian is the gold standard for what a Legendary should be)

Mythic skins are the prestige and Hextech exclusives. 160 total. Locked behind Mythic Essence or event passes. Can't just swipe your card for these. Whether the grind is worth it depends entirely on the specific skin. Some Prestige editions are just gold chromas with extra steps. Others genuinely slap.

Then you got the rare stuff. Ultimate skins at 3250 RP with only 7 ever made. Evolving, transforming, multiple forms. Elementalist Lux is still the peak. Transcendent (2 skins) and Exalted (5 skins) are newer categories Riot introduced. Premium tier stuff for players who want the absolute top end.

League of Legends Skin Pricing Guide

Real talk though: skin pricing in League is straightforward once you understand the tiers but the RP-to-dollar conversion trips people up. Been playing this game for years and I still have to pause and do mental math sometimes. Here's the actual breakdown so you know what you're spending.

TierRP PriceUSD EquivalentWhat You Get
Standard390-975 RP$3-7Model swap, recolors
Epic1350 RP$10New model, VFX, recall
Legendary1820 RP$14Full overhaul + voice
MythicMythic EssenceVariesPrestige/Hextech exclusive
Ultimate3250 RP$25Evolving + transforming

Quick note on Mythic skins. You can't buy Mythic Essence directly. You earn it through event passes, capsules, and disenchanting skin shards. The grind is real. I tracked my ME income across season 13 and averaged about 150 per event pass completion. One Prestige skin costs 125-150 ME. So roughly one Prestige skin per event if you finish the pass. Not free but not impossible either.

Best value in the game is the 1350 RP tier. Ten dollars gets you a skin that looks and feels premium. Compare that to Legendaries at $14 where the quality jump doesn't always justify the price bump. Some Epics from 2024-2025 have better VFX than Legendaries from 2019. Just how it goes.

Worst value? Honestly the 975 RP Standards that don't include new particles. You're paying seven bucks for a texture swap. At that point save three more dollars and get an Epic. Or wait for Your Shop discounts which rotate every few months.

How LoL Skins Work

For anyone newer to League or coming back after a break, skins in 2026 are more complex than they used to be. Not sure if it's just me but I feel like Riot adds a new system every season. Let me break down what actually matters.

Visual effects. VFX changes are what separate a good skin from a great one. Standard tier skins keep the base champion's ability effects. Epic and above get custom particles on Q, W, E, and R. A well-done VFX overhaul changes how the champion feels to play. Played 50 games of base Lux and then switched to Elementalist and it genuinely felt like a different champion in teamfights. Clarity matters.

Voice lines. Only Legendary tier and above get new voice over. Every other tier keeps the base champion's VO. This is a bigger deal than people think. Hearing the same voice lines with a completely different visual theme can break immersion. Spirit Blossom Thresh sounds nothing like base Thresh and that's the point. Meanwhile Epic skins with dark edgy themes still have the champion cracking jokes from 2012. Bit weird.

Chromas. Color variants for existing skins. Usually 290 RP each or bundled. Some skins have 8+ chromas, others have zero. Ruby chromas come free with the bundle purchase. Not every chroma is worth it. I'd say maybe 2 out of 8 actually look better than the base skin in most cases. We list chroma counts and names on every skin page so you can see what's available.

Availability types: permanent shop, Legacy vault (rotates in during events), Loot exclusive (Hextech crafting only), and limited (never coming back). We mark availability on every entry. Saves you from searching for something you literally cannot buy.

Most Popular Skinlines

220 skinlines in the database. Some have 2 skins. Some have 30+. These are the ones that actually matter to most players and the ones I've spent the most time with in ranked.

Star Guardian is Riot's biggest recurring event line. Magical girl anime aesthetic applied to League champions. Started with Lux back in 2015, now covers something like 30+ champions. The 2022 event was massive. Could be wrong here but I think Star Guardian Kai'Sa might be the most-used skin in the game based on what I see in my Diamond lobbies. Production quality on the newer entries is genuinely impressive. Full animated shorts, music, lore. Riot treats this line like a franchise.

K/DA turned League champions into pop stars. The 2018 Worlds performance with the AR Ahri broke the internet and the skins sold like crazy. K/DA ALL OUT from 2020 expanded the roster. Clean modern designs, great splash art, the kind of skins that look good even if you don't know League. Been using K/DA Kai'Sa as my default ADC skin since it dropped. Banger line.

Spirit Blossom hit during summer 2020 and became an instant classic. Japanese folklore meets League. The Thresh skin from this line is Legendary tier and one of the best skins Riot has ever made. Period. Gave Thresh a human form, new VO, the whole package. Kindred, Ahri, Yasuo all got excellent entries too. (random aside: Spirit Blossom Kindred is the reason I learned jungle in the first place)

Blood Moon is the veteran skinline. Been around since 2011. Oni mask aesthetic, red and white color palette, heavy Japanese mythology influence. Quality varies a lot since the line spans over a decade of Riot's art evolution. The newer Blood Moon skins look fantastic. The older ones show their age. Blood Moon Jhin is probably the standout, fits his theme perfectly.

PROJECT takes champions and makes them cyberpunk. Neon colors, digital effects, futuristic armor. PROJECT Vayne was my go-to ADC skin for like three seasons straight. The line peaked around 2017-2019 I think. Newer entries still look solid but the concept feels less fresh than it did when Yasuo's PROJECT skin first dropped. Still a top 5 skinline overall.

Pulsefire started with one of the original Ultimate skins: Pulsefire Ezreal from 2012. Time-travel tech aesthetic. The line expanded over the years with Epic and Legendary entries for other champions. Pulsefire Caitlyn is Legendary tier and worth every RP if you play her. Might be the cleanest ADC skin in the game next to PROJECT Vayne.

Battle Academia puts champions in an anime school setting. My Hero Academia vibes. Ezreal got the Legendary and its actually one of his best skins despite the goofy premise. Lux, Caitlyn, Katarina all have entries. Solid line that doesn't take itself too seriously. Good VFX across the board.

Arcade is the retro gaming line. Pixel effects, 8-bit sound design, bright colors. Arcade Miss Fortune and Arcade Hecarim were early standouts. The line has cooled off in recent years as Riot focuses on bigger event skinlines but the existing entries still hold up. Fun skins for ARAM if nothing else.

Skin Tiers Explained for New Players

Fair warning: this section is specifically for people who just started League or havent bought a skin before. If you already know the tier system skip ahead to the FAQ.

Your first skin purchase should be an Epic (1350 RP) for your most-played champion. Full stop. Don't go cheaper because you'll feel like you wasted money on a texture swap. Don't go more expensive because Legendaries are a commitment and you might switch mains. Played three champions before settling on my main back in season 5 and I'm glad I didn't drop 1820 RP on skins for the first two.

Buy during Your Shop events. Riot runs personalized discount shops a few times per year. You get 6 random skins offered at 20-60% off based on your play history. I've gotten Legendaries for 40% off through this. Patience pays. Also watch for event passes if you play regularly. The pass gives you enough tokens and ME to eventually craft a Prestige or Mythic skin for "free" (minus the pass cost of about $15).

Don't buy chromas until you've played 20+ games with the base skin. Serious. Chromas look exciting in the shop but half of them you'll never use after the first week. Exception: if there's a Ruby chroma in the bundle and you were gonna buy the skin anyway, grab the bundle. The Ruby comes free with it and sometimes its the best color option.

Avoid Legacy skins unless you're a collector. They rotate in and out of the shop during events and the FOMO pricing catches people. Most Legacy skins are older, lower quality entries that dont compete with modern Epics. There's exceptions but in general your RP goes further on current releases.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins are in League of Legends?

1899 skins as of 2026 spread across 172 champions. Thats Standard, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Ultimate, Transcendent, and Exalted tiers all combined. Number keeps climbing every patch since Riot drops new ones constantly. Had to recount when the latest event dropped because I lost track of which Akali skins I even owned at that point.

What is the most expensive LoL skin?

Ultimate tier at 3250 RP. Roughly $25 USD. Only 7 of them exist in the entire game: Pulsefire Ezreal, Spirit Guard Udyr, DJ Sona, Elementalist Lux, Gun Goddess MF, K/DA ALL OUT Seraphine, and Soul Fighter Samira. Evolving visuals, multiple forms, stuff you dont see anywhere else. Elementalist Lux alone has like ten form combinations and I still havent tried them all after 300 ARAM games.

What are LoL skin chromas?

Recolors of existing skins basically. Different color palette on the model and sometimes a tint shift on the VFX. 290 RP each or grab the bundle. Ruby, Obsidian, Pearl, Amethyst, Catseye are the usual suspects. Ruby chroma comes free with the bundle purchase which is nice. Honestly most chromas arent worth individual purchases but every now and then one just looks cleaner than the base skin. Obsidian chroma on Battle Academia Ezreal? Better than the original. Real talk.

How do I get Mythic skins in League of Legends?

You need Mythic Essence. Cant buy it directly with money, you earn it through event passes, Hextech capsules, and disenchanting skin shards. Prestige skins run 125-150 ME. Finishing a full event pass usually nets you about 125-150 ME depending on the event. Took me a solid two weeks of grinding last season to finish a pass. Not free but not impossible if you play regularly.

What is a Legacy skin in LoL?

Skins that got pulled from the regular shop and tossed into Riot's vault. They show up again during events and special sales but you cant just go buy them whenever. Hextech crafting works too if you get lucky with shards or rerolls. Fair warning though: Legacy doesnt mean good. Most of these are older skins with dated models. Bought Nightmare Cho'Gath out of the vault during a legacy sale and regretted it immediately. Looked way worse than I remembered.

Do all LoL skins have new voice lines?

Nope. Only Legendary (1820 RP) and above get new VO. Standard and Epic keep the base champion voice lines which honestly feels weird sometimes when a dark edgy skin still has the champion cracking season 2 jokes. Ultimate skins usually have multiple voice sets for their different forms. Thats the big gap between Epic and Legendary right there. The voice lines change how the champion feels in a way particles cant.

What is the difference between Epic and Legendary skins?

Epic at 1350 RP gets you a new model, new ability VFX, and a custom recall. Voice lines and walk animations stay base though. Legendary at 1820 RP adds completely new VO, new idle animations, new movement, and usually redesigned ability animations on top of all that. Sounds like a small gap but play an Epic and then switch to a Legendary on the same champ. Night and day. Played Spirit Blossom Thresh after using base for a year and I couldnt go back.

Can you refund skins in League of Legends?

Technically yeah but dont get excited. You get 3 refund tokens total on your account. Each one lets you refund a purchase from the last 90 days for full RP back. Once those 3 are gone thats it. Forever. Burned all mine by season 5 on skins I thought I wanted and definitely did not. Riot hands out extra tokens sometimes but its super rare. Basically treat every purchase as final.

How often does Riot release new skins?

Pretty much every patch which is roughly every two weeks. Typical patch drops 4-8 new skins, usually tied to whatever event or skinline Riot is pushing that cycle. Big events like Star Guardian or Worlds can have 10+ skins at once. Works out to about 120-150 new skins per year give or take. Kinda wild when you think about it. Thats like 3 skins a week on average across the whole year.

What are the rarest skins in League of Legends?

PAX Twisted Fate, PAX Jax, PAX Sivir if you went to PAX events back in the day. Black Alistar from the 2009 pre-order. Rusty Blitzcrank got yanked from the shop in 2010. King Rammus was a beta tester reward. Gone forever, no way to get any of them now. Championship Riven from 2012 got a modified rerelease at some point but the original version is still impossible to find. Seen maybe two PAX TF skins in my entire League career and both times the whole lobby stopped to look at the loading screen. Not even kidding.
