Odyssey Skins

All 13 skins in the Odyssey skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Odyssey skin in League of Legends.

Odyssey is one of those skinlines where Riot went full sci-fi space opera and actually stuck the landing. Not sure if it's just me but something about the neon-on-dark color palette, the starship crew vibes, the whole "ragtag band of misfits in space" aesthetic just works. I been running Odyssey skins in my ranked games since 2018 and they still hold up visually against newer releases. 13 skins deep now across 12 champions, and the line has Legendaries that genuinely compete for best-in-slot on their respective champs. Hard to say that about most skinlines from that era.

What Sets Odyssey Apart from Other Sci-Fi Lines

Riot has a bunch of futuristic skinlines. PROJECT, Pulsefire, Program, Praetorian. They all lean into the tech-heavy cyborg thing. Odyssey goes a completely different direction. Think Guardians of the Galaxy meets anime space pirates. The color work is what sells it: deep space purples, electric golds, bright orange energy effects against dark metallic armor. Every skin in the line shares that same cosmic energy signature in their VFX, this swirling gold-and-purple particle system that ties everything together visually.

The splash arts across the Odyssey line tell a connected story. Thats actually rare for League skinlines outside of maybe Star Guardian. You've got Kayn as the villain, Yasuo and Jinx as crew members, Ziggs blowing things up because of course he is. Sona piloting the ship. Each splash feels like a frame from the same animated series. (Random aside: the Odyssey event back in 2018 had a PvE mode and I still think about it sometimes at like 1 AM when I cant sleep.)

Compared to something like Dark Star which goes full cosmic horror, Odyssey keeps things lighter. More personality. The recall animations have humor in them. Ziggs literally juggles bombs on a spaceship. Malphite does this ground-pound landing thing. The line doesnt take itself too seriously and thats part of the charm. Could be wrong here but I think Odyssey might be the most cohesive "fun" skinline Riot has ever done. Star Guardian has the cohesion but leans more serious in later seasons. Odyssey stays goofy and cool at the same time.

VFX consistency is strong too. Every Odyssey skin uses that gold energy trail on abilities. You see an Odyssey champion casting spells in a teamfight and you immediately know the skinline. That kind of visual identity is hard to pull off across 13 skins spanning from 2018 to 2025.

Best Odyssey Skins Worth Locking In

Odyssey Kayn. Full stop. This Legendary is one of the best skins in the entire game, not just the skinline. Both forms get completely different visual treatments. Shadow Assassin Kayn goes full cosmic purple with these insane dark energy slashes on Q. Rhaast form shifts to a red-orange burning aesthetic. The voice lines are different for each form. Been spamming this in Diamond since it dropped and I still notice new animation details. The ult especially, when you pop out of someone as Shadow Assassin the particle explosion is chef's kiss.

Galaxy Slayer Zed takes the second Legendary slot and earns it. The shadow clone VFX on W got a complete overhaul. Living shadow turns into this holographic projection thing. Kinda feels like playing a different champion. His shurikens leave gold energy trails and the death mark pop has weight to it. Real talk though, the Mythic variant Quantum Galaxy Slayer Zed is harder to justify. It's a prestige-style recolor of an already great skin. If you already own Galaxy Slayer, the Mythic version is mostly for collectors.

For the Epic tier, Odyssey Twisted Fate surprised me. Played maybe 30 games with it last season in ranked and the card animations are clean. Gold Card has this energy pulse effect. His ult channel shows this holographic galaxy map. For 1350 RP it punches above its weight. Honestly not gonna lie, I think it's top 3 TF skins and the man has a lot of skins to compete with.

Odyssey Sivir is another sleeper. The crossblade becomes this energy boomerang thing and the ricochet on W looks fantastic in a stacked teamfight. Good skin for ADC mains who want something flashy without going Legendary price.

Odyssey Jinx rounds out my top picks. Her rockets get the full Odyssey treatment and Fishbones in rocket form fires these golden energy missiles. Satisfying to cs with. The minigun tracer rounds look great too. Not the flashiest Jinx skin but solid for the price point.

The Odyssey Champion Roster

12 champions across 13 skins. Zed gets two because of the Mythic variant. The original 2018 batch brought Kayn, Yasuo, Malphite, Ziggs, Sona, and Jinx. That was the PvE event crew. Each one had a role in the story mode. Then Riot expanded the line over the years with Kha'Zix, Sivir, Twisted Fate, Karma, and eventually Aatrox in 2025.

Not every champion fits the vibe equally. Kayn and Zed were born for this aesthetic. Assassins in space armor with glowing weapons just makes sense. Yasuo works because the wandering swordsman archetype translates naturally to space ronin. Jinx is Jinx, she fits literally any skinline that involves explosions.

Some feel more forced though. Malphite in the Odyssey line always struck me as the odd one out. He's the tank of the crew, sure, but a giant rock in space armor is a harder sell than a ninja or a gunslinger. Karma also feels slightly disconnected from the core identity. She works mechanically but the "space support" fantasy is less defined than "space assassin" or "space pirate." Maybe just my experience but I never see Odyssey Karma in my games. Like ever.

Sona fits surprisingly well as the pilot character. Her musical theme translates to a ship's communications officer vibe. (Sidebar for Sona mains specifically: the aura VFX on this skin are some of the cleanest she has, worth considering over DJ if you want something less busy.)

Who should Riot add next? I think an Odyssey Ekko would be insane. Time manipulation plus space tech? Writes itself. Odyssey Samira could work too, the stylish gunslinger angle fits the crew dynamic. And give us an Odyssey villain that isn't Kayn. Maybe Odyssey Mordekaiser as some kind of space warlord. Just throwing ideas out there.

Tier Breakdown and Pricing

The Odyssey line runs from 1350 to 1820 RP. No budget options here. 10 Epics at 1350 each, 2 Legendaries at 1820, and 1 Mythic. The Epics do the heavy lifting in terms of volume. Most champions in the line got the Epic treatment and honestly? The quality bar for Odyssey Epics is higher than average. This isn't a skinline where Epic tier feels like a compromise.

The two Legendaries carry the prestige though. Odyssey Kayn and Galaxy Slayer Zed are both top-tier Legendaries by any standard. New VO, new animations, form-specific changes for Kayn. If you're choosing where to spend, start with those two. Fair warning, once you play Kayn with the Odyssey skin the base model feels rough to go back to.

Price range across the full set: you're looking at around 17,000 RP to collect everything if you bought at full price. That's a lot. Probably not worth completing unless you're a serious skin collector. Better to cherry-pick the 3-4 best ones. Kayn and Zed Legendary for sure. Then maybe TF or Jinx from the Epic pool depending on who you actually play. 1350 RP feels fair for what the Epics deliver. Standard pricing but the skins earn it with the VFX quality.

The Mythic tier Quantum Galaxy Slayer Zed sits outside the normal pricing since you need Mythic Essence or got it through the crafting system. Its basically a variant of Galaxy Slayer with different color tones. Cool if you have the Essence lying around. Not something I'd specifically grind for though.

Took this whole line into ranked rotation for about two months last year around November. Spent most of that time on Kayn and TF. The skins hold up in the Rift, VFX read clearly in teamfights, nothing gets lost in the visual noise. That's the mark of good skin design. Some skinlines look great in splash but fall apart during a 5v5 engage. Odyssey stays clean even when things get chaotic in bot lane specifically during dragon fights.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Odyssey skins are there?

13 Odyssey skins total across 12 champions. Zed has two versions: Galaxy Slayer Zed at Legendary tier and Quantum Galaxy Slayer Zed at Mythic. The rest of the roster each has one Odyssey skin. Line started with 6 skins in 2018 and Riot added more over the years through 2025 with Aatrox being the latest addition.

What is the best Odyssey skin?

Odyssey Kayn. Not even close in my opinion. Both forms get unique visual overhauls, new voice lines, different VFX for Shadow Assassin and Rhaast. Galaxy Slayer Zed is the runner-up and also Legendary quality. For Epic tier, Odyssey Twisted Fate punches way above 1350 RP with clean card animations and a solid ult visual.

Which champions have Odyssey skins?

Twelve champions: Kayn, Zed, Yasuo, Jinx, Sona, Ziggs, Malphite, Twisted Fate, Sivir, Karma, Kha'Zix, and Aatrox. The original 2018 PvE event crew was Kayn, Yasuo, Jinx, Sona, Ziggs, and Malphite. Riot expanded the roster with additional champions in later patches.

Does Odyssey have Legendary skins?

Two Legendaries. Odyssey Kayn at 1820 RP with form-specific VFX and new voice lines for both Shadow Assassin and Rhaast. Galaxy Slayer Zed also at 1820 RP with overhauled shadow clone visuals and new VO. Both are top-tier Legendaries that I think hold up against anything released since.

When did the Odyssey skinline release?

First Odyssey skins dropped in 2018 alongside a PvE game mode event. That initial batch had Kayn, Yasuo, Jinx, Sona, Ziggs, and Malphite. The line kept growing through 2025 with champions like Aatrox joining. Galaxy Slayer Zed came a bit after the original wave.

Are Odyssey skins worth buying?

The Legendaries absolutely yes. Odyssey Kayn is a must-own for Kayn mains and Galaxy Slayer Zed is S-tier for Zed one-tricks. Epic tier varies more. TF, Jinx, and Sivir are solid picks at 1350 RP. Malphite and Karma are fine but not standout. Buy based on who you actually play in ranked.

Do Odyssey skins have chromas?

Some of the Epic tier Odyssey skins have chroma sets available. Not all of them though. The Legendaries typically dont get standard chromas since they already have extensive VFX work. Check individual skin pages for specific chroma availability and color options. Quantum Galaxy Slayer Zed is essentially a Mythic recolor of the base Legendary.

Will Riot make more Odyssey skins?

Could be wrong here but I think the line still has legs. Riot added Aatrox in 2025, so they havent abandoned it. The space opera theme fits a ton of champions who dont have Odyssey skins yet. Ekko and Samira feel like natural fits. No official announcements but the line keeps getting new additions every couple of years.
