Veigar

Veigar Skins

15 skins available

Veigar's skin catalog is one of those collections that quietly stacked up over 15 years and now sits at 15 skins deep. Not the biggest roster in League but theres something for everyone here. Been a Veigar pocket pick for me since season 5, mostly mid but sometimes support when the comp needs AP and I'm feeling lazy. The little yordle has two Legendaries, six Epics, and seven Standards ranging from 390 RP throwaways to full 1820 RP productions. Some of these skins go genuinely hard. Others exist purely because Riot needed to fill a patch cycle. Lets get into it.

How Veigar's Skin Collection Shaped Up

White Mage Veigar dropped back in 2009. Original launch skin territory. The early stuff like Curling Veigar and Leprechaun Veigar are products of their era, simple recolors and model tweaks that Riot was churning out before they figured out what a skin pipeline should look like. Not gonna lie, some of those early skins have a charm to them. Nostalgia factor is real.

The collection really started cooking around 2014 when Final Boss Veigar hit the shop. That was the first Legendary for him and it changed the conversation entirely. Suddenly Veigar mains had a skin that actually matched the champion's fantasy of being this tiny megalomaniac stacking infinite AP. The arcade theme, the 8-bit sound effects, the whole package felt like Riot understood the character.

From there the Epics started rolling in. Omega Squad in 2017, Elderwood in 2019, Furyhorn Cosplay and Astronaut filling out 2020 and 2022. Monster Tamer and King Beegar landed somewhere in between. Could be wrong here but I think the Epic tier is where Veigar's collection peaks in terms of consistency. Six Epics and most of them are genuinely solid at 1350 RP.

Then Fright Night Veigar closed out 2024 as the second Legendary. Two Legendaries for a yordle who's been around since beta. Feels earned. The tier breakdown across 15 skins sits at a healthy spread, you're not drowning in 520 RP filler skins that add nothing. The Standards are mostly legacy or seasonal stuff, the Epics carry the mid-range, and the Legendaries anchor the top. Good catalog structure honestly.

Best Veigar Skins Worth Locking In

Final Boss Veigar is the one. Full stop. Been spamming this in ranked since it dropped and the skin just does not get old. The entire kit gets the arcade treatment. His Q fires pixelated projectiles, the W drop zone looks like a game-over screen loading in, and the E cage has these retro grid lines that make it feel like you're trapping people inside a Game Boy. (Random aside: the kill sound effect on this skin might be my favorite audio cue in the entire game.) The recall animation where he plays a fighting game is peak character design. Riot priced it at 1820 RP and it earns every point.

Fright Night Veigar came in as the second Legendary and honestly it holds up. Different vibe entirely. Horror theme, creepy puppeteer aesthetic, the R cage summons this nightmare carnival feel. The new voice lines hit different from Final Boss, more sinister and less campy. Played maybe 40 games with it last October around Halloween and the seasonal feel just worked. The W landing zone has these jack-o-lantern particles that I think look better on Summoner's Rift at night. 1820 RP again, standard Legendary pricing.

Omega Squad Veigar at 1350 RP is the sleeper pick. Military Veigar sounds ridiculous on paper but the execution is clean. The helmet, the dark green palette, the serious tone mixed with his tiny yordle proportions. His Q shoots these tracer rounds and the W calls in what looks like an airstrike. Kinda feels like Riot took the joke seriously enough to make it work. Been my go-to when I want something less flashy than Final Boss.

Elderwood Veigar leans into the fantasy mage angle hard. The wooden staff, the nature VFX on his abilities, the overall mystical forest vibe. His E cage becomes these twisted branches growing from the ground. Solid Epic at 1350 RP. Not my personal favorite but I get why one-tricks gravitate toward it. The color palette reads well in teamfights which matters more than people think when you're trying to land a five-man cage in a chaotic dragon fight.

Furyhorn Cosplay Veigar is the wildcard. Part of the Rift Quest skinline where champions dress up as other things. Veigar in a dragon costume. The R animation where this tiny yordle drops what looks like a massive dragon head on someone is genuinely funny after 200 games. 1350 RP, worth it for the comedy value alone if you main him.

Skinlines and Where Veigar Fits

Veigar shows up across a bunch of different skinlines and not all of them make equal sense. The Arcade: Battle Bosses line is where he belongs thematically. Final Boss Veigar is literally the final boss. The fantasy of a tiny evil mage who thinks he's the biggest threat on the Rift translates perfectly into an arcade villain. Might be overthinking it but the skinline basically wrote itself for this champion.

Snowdown Showdown gave us Bad Santa Veigar which is seasonal fun but nothing groundbreaking. Winter Sports has Curling Veigar from the ancient days. Medieval is Veigar Greybeard. Silver Age covers Superb Villain and Baron Von Veigar, both leaning into that comic book antagonist archetype that fits the champion's personality. (Sidebar for Veigar mains specifically: the Silver Age skins look dated now but the thematic DNA is what eventually became Final Boss.)

The Fables skinline houses Elderwood which works because forest magic and dark sorcery overlap naturally. Rift Quest with Furyhorn Cosplay is pure comedy. Road Warrior is one of those early skinlines that doesnt really resonate with Veigar's kit or personality. Real talk though, the skinline diversity is decent for 15 skins. He's not stuck in one aesthetic lane which gives you options depending on your mood in champ select. Some champions get pigeonholed into the same vibe across their entire collection. Veigar dodged that.

Budget Picks vs Premium for Veigar

If you're climbing ranked and dont want to drop serious RP, the Standard tier has some options. Leprechaun Veigar at 520 RP is a simple model swap but it reads cleanly in game. Superb Villain Veigar at 390 RP is literally the cheapest option and honestly for a Standard skin from that era its fine. Not great. Fine.

The real value lives at 1350 RP. Omega Squad Veigar punches way above its weight class for an Epic. New particles on every ability, different model, clean audio. If you can only spend 1350 RP on one Veigar skin that's the one I'd recommend to anyone who plays him regularly in ranked. Elderwood is close second.

Premium side you've got two Legendaries at 1820 RP each. Final Boss is the iconic pick and still holds up after all these years. Fright Night is newer, flashier in some ways, and has the updated Legendary standard with more voice lines. Not sure if it's just me but Final Boss still edges it out for me personally. The nostalgia factor plus the arcade theme being so uniquely Veigar specific. If you're a Veigar one-trick you probably own both already. If you're picking one, Final Boss. Had it in rotation for years and never switched off for more than a week. Season 12 I think I played 300 games of Veigar and Final Boss was locked in for maybe 280 of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Veigar have?

15 skins total as of 2024. Solid number for a champion who's been around since 2009. The split is seven Standards, six Epics, and two Legendaries. Not the biggest collection in League but definitely not neglected either. Riot's been pretty consistent with giving him new stuff every couple years.

What is the best Veigar skin?

Final Boss Veigar. Not even close in my opinion. The arcade theme fits the champion perfectly, every ability gets new VFX and audio, and the recall animation is iconic. Been running this since it dropped and it still feels fresh. Fright Night is the runner-up if you want something darker.

What is the cheapest Veigar skin?

Superb Villain Veigar at 390 RP. Cheapest you can get. Its a basic model change with no new particles or sounds but honestly the comic villain look has some charm. Leprechaun Veigar at 520 RP is the next step up if you want to spend a tiny bit more. Neither will blow your mind though.

Does Veigar have a Legendary skin?

Two Legendaries actually. Final Boss Veigar from 2014 and Fright Night Veigar from 2024. Both 1820 RP. Both worth it for mains. Final Boss is the classic pick with the arcade theme, Fright Night goes horror. Having two Legendaries for a yordle champ feels like a win.

What skinlines is Veigar in?

Veigar appears across Arcade: Battle Bosses, Fables (Elderwood), Rift Quest, Omega Squad, Snowdown Showdown, Silver Age, Medieval, Winter Sports, and Road Warrior. The Arcade line fits him best thematically. Pretty wide spread for 15 skins, gives you options across different aesthetics.

Does Veigar have chromas?

Several of his Epic skins have chroma packs available. Omega Squad, Elderwood, Furyhorn Cosplay, and the newer Epics all got chromas. If you're buying an Epic Veigar skin check if there's a chroma bundle because some of them honestly look better than the base version. Worth browsing before you lock in.

When was Veigar's last skin released?

Fright Night Veigar in 2024. Legendary tier at 1820 RP. Horror themed with new VO, VFX, the whole package. Came out around the spooky season which made sense for the aesthetic. Solid addition to the collection and proof Riot still gives this champion attention after 15 years.

Is Veigar worth buying skins for?

If you play him regularly then absolutely. His kit is visually distinctive so skins that change the particle effects feel noticeably different in game. The E cage alone makes skin upgrades worth it because you stare at that ability constantly. Final Boss at 1820 or Omega Squad at 1350 if budgets tight. Both make ranked games feel better.
