Olaf Skins

11 skins available

Olaf is one of those champions where the skin catalog tells you exactly how Riot's design philosophy evolved over 14 years. Been maining him on and off since season 3, mostly as a jungle pick when the meta allows it, and I've owned every single skin at some point. Some aged like fine wine. Others aged like milk left on a radiator. His collection sits at 11 skins right now, which feels about right for a champion who's never been the poster child of League but always has his loyal one-tricks keeping him relevant in solo queue. Not gonna lie, there's some real gems buried in here if you know where to look.

How Olaf's Skin Collection Shaped Up Over the Years

Eleven skins spanning from 2010 to 2024. That's a solid run for a Viking berserker who spends most of his time running at people with axes and refusing to die. The tier breakdown looks like five Standards, five Epics, and one Legendary. Decent spread. Could be worse.

His earliest skins dropped when Riot was still figuring out what skins even meant. Forsaken Olaf and Glacial Olaf came from that era where a recolor and maybe a new helmet counted as a full skin release. Different times. Season 1 players remember. The Standard tier stuff from back then is rough by modern standards but theres a certain nostalgia factor if you were around for it.

The real turning point was Brolaf in 2010. Legendary tier, 1820 RP, and honestly one of the most iconic joke skins Riot ever made. This was back when Legendary meant "we gave him a completely new voice over and called it a day." No new animations, no custom particles by today's standards. But the voice lines carried so hard that people still lock it in during my Diamond games in 2026.

Then you had this stretch through seasons 3-6 where Olaf got consistent releases. Pentakill Olaf for the music fans, Marauder for the edgy crowd, Butcher for the budget players. Nothing groundbreaking but Riot kept feeding his mains. SKT T1 Olaf came through in 2016 after the Worlds win, and that one actually holds up. Might be my favorite Esports skin in the game period.

Recent years gave us Sentinel Olaf, Pentakill III: Lost Chapter, and Infernal Olaf. The Epic tier releases got noticeably better. Custom VFX on Q and E, new recalls, the whole package you expect from 1350 RP in modern League. Kinda feels like Riot finally figured out how to make Olaf look good without just slapping a bigger helmet on him.

Best Skins for Olaf

Alright, the real reason you're here. Played probably 400+ Olaf games across multiple seasons and I've got strong opinions on which skins actually feel good in-game versus which ones just have a nice splash.

Brolaf is the obvious pick and I'm not gonna pretend otherwise. Yeah it's the Legendary at 1820 RP. Yeah the model looks dated compared to 2024 releases. But the voice lines are genuinely funny even after hearing them hundreds of times. "You can't arrest me, my dad owns a dealership" hits different when you're running through the enemy team with R popped and nobody can CC you. Been spamming this in ranked since forever. The recall where he checks his phone is still peak Riot humor. (Random aside: played against a Brolaf one-trick last week in Diamond who had 2 million mastery points. Respect.) The skin doesnt have modern VFX or anything fancy but it has personality for days. First choice for Olaf mains, full stop.

Dragonslayer Olaf is where you go if you want Olaf to actually look intimidating. Part of the Dragon World skinline, and the thematic fit is perfect. Viking kills dragons. That's literally the fantasy. The Q axe throw has this fire trail effect that reads cleanly in teamfights, which matters more than people think when you're trying to hit axes in a chaotic engage. E feels chunkier with the visual feedback too. 1350 RP, standard Epic pricing, and I think it's the best pure gameplay skin he has.

SKT T1 Olaf from the World Champions 2016 line. Could be wrong here but I think this is the most underrated Esports skin in the game. The white and red color scheme looks clean on Olaf's frame, and the recall animation with the SKT logo is a nice touch. Locked this in for most of season 7 and never got tired of it. 1350 RP.

Sentinel Olaf surprised me honestly. Wasn't expecting much from the Sentinel of Light event but Olaf's version turned out solid. The light-infused axes on Q look great against darker Rift environments, and his W glow effect during Vicious Strikes is satisfying. Good skin. Not amazing. But good.

Pentakill III: Lost Chapter Olaf is the metalhead pick. If you liked original Pentakill Olaf but wanted it with actual modern quality VFX, this is the upgrade. The guitar-axe concept works better in Lost Chapter than the original. Sound effects on abilities have this subtle distortion quality. Real talk though, in a late-game teamfight the particles can get a bit noisy. Minor complaint for an otherwise strong skin at 1350 RP.

Skinlines and Themes That Work for Olaf

Olaf shows up in eight different skinlines across his 11 skins, and not all of them make equal sense for a berserker Viking. The ones that click hardest are Dragon World (Dragonslayer), Pentakill, and honestly the Day Job line with Brolaf. Viking slaying dragons, Viking playing metal guitar, Viking being a frat bro. All peak.

The Glacial skinline from his early days is the most obvious thematic fit on paper. Ice Viking. Makes sense. But the execution is just a blue recolor from 2010 so it doesn't really land the way it should. If Riot ever revisited Glacial Olaf with modern VFX it could be something special. Not holding my breath though. (Sidebar for Olaf mains specifically: you know Riot would charge 1350 for a Glacial rework and we'd all still buy it.)

Marauder Olaf fits the aggressive warrior fantasy well enough. Dark armor, menacing silhouette. Works in-game even if the skinline itself never became one of Riot's flagship themes. Feels like it was designed for splitpush players who want to look scary in a side lane.

The Culinary Masters line gave us Butcher Olaf which is genuinely funny as a concept. Chef's hat, meat cleaver axes. It's a budget comedy skin in the same spirit as Brolaf but without the legendary voice lines to back it up. Still, I've seen maybe 5 of these in my games all season and each time it gets a reaction in chat. Unique pick for sure.

Legacy skins like Forsaken Olaf sit in the vault rotation. Not worth hunting for unless you're a completionist. The model is too dated to compete with anything from 2015 onward.

Budget vs Premium: Where to Spend on Olaf

The price range runs from 520 RP for the oldest Standards up to 1820 RP for Brolaf. Pretty standard spread. If you're climbing ranked and just want one Olaf skin that feels good without breaking the bank, Dragonslayer at 1350 is the move. Clean VFX, solid model, reads well in teamfights. Done.

Not sure if it's just me but Pentakill Olaf (the original, not Lost Chapter) at 750 RP punches way above its weight class. The guitar-axe model looks decent and it's half the price of the Epic skins. For players who dont want to spend 1350 on a champion they only pull out situationally, original Pentakill is the value king.

Now if you main Olaf and you're looking at premium, Brolaf at 1820 RP is the only Legendary and it's worth every RP for the voice lines alone. Won't sugarcoat it though: the model and VFX are pre-2015 quality. You're paying for personality, not polish. If Riot ever gives Brolaf a visual update it instantly becomes the best skin in the game. Might be overthinking it but I genuinely believe that.

Skip the 520 RP skins unless you got them from a chest. Forsaken and Glacial Olaf are relics. They served their purpose back in season 1 but spending actual money on them in 2026 makes no sense when Pentakill exists at 750.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Olaf have?

Olaf has 11 skins total as of 2024. Five Standards from his early years, five Epics at 1350 RP each, and one Legendary which is Brolaf. Solid collection for a champion whos been around since 2010. Not the biggest roster but enough variety that you can find something for any budget or vibe.

What is the best Olaf skin?

Brolaf if you want personality and iconic voice lines. Dragonslayer Olaf if you want the best looking in-game model with clean VFX. Been going back and forth between these two for years honestly. Depends on your mood. Ranked tryhard mode? Dragonslayer. Vibes and fun? Brolaf every time.

What is the cheapest Olaf skin?

Forsaken Olaf and Glacial Olaf sit at 520 RP, making them the cheapest options. They're basically recolors from 2010 though. If you want actual value, grab Pentakill Olaf at 750 RP. Guitar axes. Looks way better than anything at the 520 price point. Trust me on this one.

Does Olaf have a Legendary skin?

Yeah, Brolaf is his only Legendary at 1820 RP. One of the oldest Legendaries in the game actually. The model is dated but the complete voice over replacement carries it hard. "Bromacia" still gets me. No new Legendary since then, which feels like Riot sleeping on the champion honestly.

What skinlines is Olaf in?

Olaf appears in eight skinlines: Legacy, Glacial, Day Job (Brolaf), Pentakill, Marauder, Culinary Masters (Butcher), World Champions 2016 (SKT T1), and Dragon World (Dragonslayer). Pretty diverse lineup. Dragon World and Pentakill fit him best thematically. Day Job is the comedy pick and it works.

Does Olaf have chromas?

Some of his Epic skins have chromas available. Dragonslayer and Sentinel Olaf both got chroma sets. The Ruby chroma on Dragonslayer goes hard if you want a darker red vibe. Worth checking in the shop if you already own the base skin and want to mix things up in ranked.

When was Olaf's last skin released?

Infernal Olaf dropped in 2024, making it his most recent release. Part of the Infernal skinline refresh. Before that it was Pentakill III: Lost Chapter which came during the Pentakill event. Riot's been giving him skins every couple years which is more than some champions can say.

Is Olaf worth buying skins for?

If you main him or play him regularly in jungle or top, absolutely. Dragonslayer at 1350 RP is the safe bet. Brolaf at 1820 if you want the full experience. He's always viable in solo queue for climbing and his skins feel good in-game. Skip if you only play him once a month though.
