Been playing Morgana on and off since season 3, mostly as support but sometimes mid when I'm feeling spicy, and the range from her oldest skins to the newer stuff is honestly wild. Some real gems buried in here alongside a couple that aged like milk left out on the Rift.

Blade Mistress Morgana dropped back in 2010 and you can tell. The model reads like a PS2 cutscene character by today's standards. Exiled Morgana and Sinful Succulence are from that same era, back when "skin" meant "we recolored the texture and called it a day."

The tier breakdown tells the real story though. Seven Standard skins, six Epics, one Legendary, two Mythics, and one Exalted. Riot clearly sees Morgana as a champion worth investing in. Makes sense when you think about it - she's been a support staple forever, shows up in mid lane, and her pick rate stays consistent across every elo. Diamond, Gold, Iron, doesn't matter. People lock in Morgana.

The real shift happened around 2019. Morgana got her VGU that year and suddenly every skin in her catalog got a facelift. Blackthorn went from decent to gorgeous overnight. Ghost Bride became actually spooky instead of just purple. Kinda feels like Riot was sitting on this champion's cosmetic potential for years and the rework unlocked it all at once.

From 2020 onward the releases picked up pace. Coven in 2020. Dawnbringer in 2021. Star Nemesis and Snow Moon in 2023. Porcelain in 2024. Six skins in four years for a champion who waited ages between releases before that. Riot figured out Morgana sells.

Best Skins for Morgana

Coven Morgana is the Legendary and it earns every bit of that 1820 RP. Full stop. New voice lines, completely redone ability VFX, a recall animation that goes harder than it has any right to. The Q root effect looks like dark thorns wrapping around whoever you catch, and I've seen people flash out of pure panic in my Diamond games because the visual sells the threat so well. Her W pool in Coven has this deep violet glow with particle effects that make it look genuinely dangerous. Base W? Looks like a purple puddle. Coven W? Looks like you opened a portal to somewhere bad.

Spirit Blossom Morgana sits at Exalted tier and honestly might be the best looking skin in her entire catalog. The spiritual aesthetic fits Morgana's fallen angel fantasy better than you'd expect. Could be wrong here but the pink and white color palette on a character usually associated with dark purple shouldn't work this well. Her ult chains in Spirit Blossom look like ethereal ribbons. Played maybe 30 games with it last season and the R animation alone won me teamfights because people forgot to walk out - they were watching the VFX.

Blackthorn Morgana at 1350 RP is the value pick I recommend to everyone. Epic tier, nature-themed, and the ability effects have this thorny green energy that reads cleanly in lane. The Q snare looks distinct from base, the W has leaf particles, and the splash art post-rework is legitimately one of the best in the game. (Random aside: I had Blackthorn as my desktop background for like three months after the VGU.)

Prestige Bewitching Morgana is Mythic tier with special pricing. The white and gold Halloween aesthetic is clean but you had to grind event tokens or get lucky with Mythic Essence. If you have it, flex it. If you dont, Bewitching base is still solid at Epic tier. The bat particles on her abilities are a nice touch.

Majestic Empress Morgana deserves a shoutout too. Standard tier but the regal Chinese-inspired design carries weight. The splash art goes incredibly hard for a skin at that price point. Been running this one in ARAM when I want something different from Coven without dropping down to the ancient 750 RP skins.

Skinlines and Themes That Actually Fit Morgana

Coven is the obvious one. Dark witchy aesthetic on a fallen angel character? Thats the most natural pairing Riot ever made. The entire Coven skinline revolves around old god worship and dark feminine power, which is basically Morgana's whole deal in the lore. She's not just a member of Coven - she's the flagship.

Spirit Blossom works for different reasons. The Ionian spirit realm theme gives Morgana this ethereal quality that plays off her wings beautifully. Where Coven leans into the darkness, Spirit Blossom pulls her toward something more bittersweet. Real talk though, both skinlines understood the assignment: Morgana needs drama and visual presence.

Bewitching is the fun one. Halloween Morgana with witch hat and bat particles. Less serious than Coven, more playful. The skinline keeps getting additions every October and Morgana fits right in. She even got the Prestige version which tells you Riot knows it sells.

Some of the older skinlines feel like relics. Woad? That's a stretch for Morgana. Steel Valkyries sounds cool on paper but I think the sci-fi angle doesn't land as hard on a character whose identity is so tied to magic and wings. Lunar Wraith from the Lunar Revel line is decent, the ghostly blue aesthetic works, but it got overshadowed by everything that came after. Victorious Morgana exists too but thats a ranked reward from season 4, so if you weren't there you're not getting it. Fair warning, it looks dated even with the VGU treatment.

Budget vs Premium Picks

The price range runs from 750 RP for the Standards up to 1820 RP for Coven Legendary. Seven skins sit at Standard tier, meaning 750-975 RP, and honestly a couple of them hold up fine after the visual update. Sinful Succulence Morgana is a cooking-themed skin for 975 RP. Silly concept. Works better than it should.

If you're spending real money on one Morgana skin ever, Coven at 1820 RP is the answer. No contest. But if thats too steep, Blackthorn at 1350 RP gives you like 80% of the premium experience for 470 less RP. The ability VFX changes are noticeable, the model looks great, and the splash art competes with skins twice its price.

Might be overthinking it but the gap between Standard and Epic on Morgana feels bigger than on most champions. Her Standard skins are basically model swaps with maybe a particle tint. Her Epics get full VFX treatment. That 1350 price point is where Morgana skins start actually feeling different to play. Ghost Bride at 975 RP is the one exception - the ghostly effects were ahead of their time and still read well in game. Best budget Morgana skin if you want to save RP for something else.
