Anivia Skins
12 skins availableAnivia has one of those skin catalogs that tells you exactly how long a champion's been around. Twelve skins spanning from 2010 to 2023 and honestly the range in quality is wild. Some of these look like they shipped yesterday, others feel like relics from a different game entirely. Been maining Anivia on and off since season 3 and I've owned most of these at some point. Not gonna lie, the bird doesn't get the love she deserves from Riot's skin team compared to flashier champs. But when they do give her something good? It hits.

Every Anivia Skin at a Glance
Twelve skins total for the Cryophoenix. That number feels about right for a champ released in 2009. Seven Standard tier skins, four Epics, and one Legendary. The Standards are mostly older stuff from the early days when "new skin" meant "we changed the texture map and called it a day." Not a knock on them exactly, thats just how things worked back then.
Bird of Prey came first in 2010. Real old school. Noxus Hunter followed that same year. Team Spirit too. Three skins in 2010 alone which is funny because Anivia would go years later without getting anything new. The 2013-2015 stretch gave us Blackfrost and Prehistoric. Then a gap. Festival Queen in 2017. Papercraft in 2019.
The Epic tier really picked up after 2019. Cosmic Flight, Divine Phoenix, Bewitching Batnivia all landed between 2021 and 2022. Felt like Riot suddenly remembered Anivia existed. Then Victorious Anivia closed out 2023 as the ranked reward skin. Twelve skins across thirteen years. Could be worse, could be better.
Real talk though, the tier distribution says a lot. Only one Legendary in over a decade of skins. Compare that to champions like Lux or Ezreal getting multiple Legendaries and Ultimates. Anivia mains take what they can get. The four Epics are all solid at least. And some of those older Standards have a charm to them if you're into the vintage look. Kinda feels like Riot treats Anivia as a "one good skin every two years" champion and honestly after season 12 I cant complain about the pace anymore.
Best Skins for Anivia
Blackfrost Anivia. Full stop. The Legendary. 1820 RP and it earns every point. Released back in April 2013 and it still holds up which is saying something for a skin that old. New model, new VFX on every ability, new voice lines. The Q stun looks completely different, darker ice particles that actually feel heavier when they connect. Her W wall gets this menacing frost effect. R blizzard zone reads cleaner than base in teamfights. Been running this in Diamond for years and the ult zone is genuinely easier to track in chaotic fights. (Random aside: I've had teammates not realize I was playing Anivia because the model looks so different.)
Papercraft Anivia is my second pick. 1350 RP Epic that does something genuinely creative with her silhouette. She's made of folded paper. Sounds goofy, looks incredible in game. The Q is a little paper airplane, the wall folds up out of the ground. Played maybe 150 games with this one last season and the recall animation alone is worth it. The paper unfolding effect on her passive egg is chef's kiss.
Cosmic Flight Anivia slots in third. Another 1350 Epic. Space bird. The color palette is gorgeous, deep purples and cosmic blues across all her abilities. E especially pops with this galaxy particle effect. Not sure if it's just me but the auto attack animation feels slightly smoother on this skin. Could be placebo. Probably is.
Divine Phoenix Anivia takes the fire-bird angle and runs with it. Opposite energy from her base kit. Instead of ice you get these warm flame VFX on the R zone. Spammed this when it dropped and the contrast between her gameplay (still freezing, still slowing) and the fire visuals is a little weird honestly. Looks sick though. The splash art is wallpaper material.
Bewitching Batnivia rounds out the top five. Halloween themed. Cute. The bat wings replace her ice wings and her egg becomes a little pumpkin. It's a fun skin for ARAM or normals. Locked it in for the entire October ranked grind last year and no regrets. Not the most serious pick but Anivia one-tricks appreciate the variety after hundreds of games on the same champ.
Skinlines and Themes That Fit Anivia
Anivia shows up in a bunch of skinlines but not all of them make equal sense. Blackfrost is the obvious perfect fit. Dark ice phoenix. The entire Blackfrost line feels like it was built around her even though other champs share it. Cosmic is another strong match. Space bird, cosmic energy, rebirth themes. It works on a thematic level that goes beyond just "we put a galaxy texture on her."
Papercraft is the weird one that shouldn't work but does. Origami phoenix. The craft aesthetic gives her abilities a totally unique read on the Rift. Been telling my duo partner for months that Papercraft is underrated and he finally tried it last Tuesday. Converted immediately.
The older skinlines are more hit or miss. Hextech Anivia predates the modern Hextech aesthetic so it doesn't match Hextech Swain or Hextech Annie at all. Just looks like blue Anivia with some gears. Prehistoric Anivia turns her into a pterodactyl type thing which is cool conceptually but the execution feels dated now. Winter Sports (Team Spirit) makes sense for an ice bird I guess. Could be wrong here but I think the Wonders of the World line with Bird of Prey was supposed to reference something specific and I've never figured out what.
Festival Queen from 2017 doesn't belong to a major skinline and it shows. Standalone carnival theme that felt random when it dropped and still feels random now. Not bad, just forgettable.
Budget Picks vs Going All In
The price range on Anivia skins goes from 520 RP to 1820 RP. Decent spread.
If you're climbing ranked and want something that looks clean without spending much, Noxus Hunter at 520 RP is surprisingly solid for the price. Simple recolor but the red tones actually read well in lane. Bird of Prey is another cheap option. Neither will blow anyone's mind but they get the job done for under 600 RP.
The 1350 RP Epics are where the real value lives though. Papercraft and Cosmic Flight both punch way above what you'd expect at that price point. New particles, new animations, new sound effects. If you're an Anivia main who wants one good skin and doesn't want to drop Legendary money, Papercraft is the answer. Might be overthinking it but I genuinely think Papercraft competes with skins that cost 500 RP more on other champions.
Blackfrost at 1820 RP is the premium option and honestly for Anivia specifically its worth saving up. One Legendary across twelve skins means this is your only option for new voice lines and a complete visual overhaul. If you're going to one-trick the bird through Diamond and beyond, Blackfrost earns its price over hundreds of games. The rest of your collection fills in around it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many skins does Anivia have?
Twelve skins total as of 2023. The split is seven Standard tier, four Epic, and one Legendary. Not a massive catalog but decent for a champ that doesn't sell skins like Lux or Ahri. Riot's given her something new roughly every year or two since 2017 which feels consistent enough.
What is the best Anivia skin?
Blackfrost Anivia. The Legendary. New model, new VFX, new voice lines. Been using it since season 4 and nothing else comes close for a complete package. Papercraft is the runner-up if you want something cheaper. Both are S-tier picks for the bird.
What is the cheapest Anivia skin?
Noxus Hunter Anivia and Bird of Prey Anivia both sit at 520 RP. Basic recolors from 2010 with no new particles or animations. They're fine for what they are. Honestly if you're spending that little you might as well save for an Epic but the option exists.
Does Anivia have a Legendary skin?
One Legendary. Blackfrost Anivia at 1820 RP, released April 2013. Full VO, new animations, completely overhauled VFX. Still holds up after all these years which is rare for Legendaries from that era. No second Legendary yet and I'm not holding my breath for one soon.
What skinlines is Anivia in?
Blackfrost, Cosmic, Papercraft, Prehistoric Hunters, Hextech, and a few older lines. The standouts are Blackfrost and Cosmic for thematic fit. Papercraft is the sleeper hit. She's also in the Bewitching line and got the Victorious treatment for ranked rewards in 2023.
Does Anivia have chromas?
Several of her newer skins have chromas. Papercraft, Cosmic Flight, Divine Phoenix, and Bewitching Batnivia all got chroma sets. The older Standards dont have any. If chromas matter to you, the 1350 RP Epics are where the variety lives. Some solid color options in those sets.
When was Anivia's last skin released?
Victorious Anivia dropped in 2023 as the ranked season reward. Before that it was Bewitching Batnivia in 2022. She's been getting something new every year lately which is a big improvement over the dry spells she had in earlier seasons. Good time to be an Anivia main honestly.
Is Anivia worth buying skins for?
If you play her regularly then absolutely. Her base model is showing its age. Even one Epic skin like Papercraft or Cosmic Flight makes the champion feel fresh. Blackfrost is the investment piece if you're committed. Fair warning though, Anivia's pick rate is low enough that you wont see many compliments in lobby. You're buying these for yourself.
