Winterblessed Senna

First game I played with Winterblessed Senna was a random Tuesday night around 1 AM, duo queue with my support main buddy. Locked it in without even checking the skin spotlight. The loading screen splash hit different. Senna standing in that frozen cathedral light, this ice-queen energy radiating off her. Knew immediately this was staying in rotation.

How Winterblessed Senna actually plays

Full Legendary treatment here. New voice lines, new VFX on every ability, new recall animation. Senna gets the complete package and honestly it shows in every fight.

The Q heal has this crystalline frost burst that spreads across allies. Clean visual feedback. You actually see the healing range better than base Senna which is lowkey a gameplay advantage when you’re trying to peel for your ADC in chaotic teamfights. Not sure if it’s just me but the particle clarity on this skin feels sharper than most of her other options.

W root sends out this ice shard that shatters on contact. The root indicator is a frozen ring on the ground, gorgeous effect. Been running this in Diamond ranked for months and the enemy backline sometimes doesnt even notice the W traveling through minions because the winter particles blend with certain Rift terrain. Might be overthinking it but I swear I land more W’s with this skin equipped.

E shroud transforms into a winter fog. Thick snowfall particles surround your team. The camouflage effect reads well and the visual boundary is distinct enough that your teammates actually stay inside it during ganking setups or objective fights. Played maybe 40 games last month where the E alone won us dragon pit contests because the enemy Kayn kept walking into our whole comp blind.

The ult though. Senna’s R fires this massive beam of frozen light across the map. The shield portion has snowflake particles on allies it hits, and the damage side cracks the ground with ice fractures. Best global ult VFX in the game right now. Period. I saved our top lane Irelia from a dive pre-6 last week and she typed “that ult animation is insane” in chat. Fair point.

Recall animation has Senna creating an ice sculpture of her relic cannon, then shattering it. Short, stylish, no filler. Cynthia Kaye McWilliams delivered on the new voice lines too. The VO has this calm, almost regal tone compared to base Senna. Less grief, more determination. Fits the Winterblessed fantasy perfectly.

The Winterblessed line and release context

Winterblessed Senna dropped December 6, 2023. Late season 13, right when the winter event kicked off. Pandart Studio nailed the splash, the composition with the frozen stained glass behind Senna captures the holy knight aesthetic the whole skinline goes for.

The Winterblessed line is one of Riot’s stronger thematic sets. Senna joins the roster alongside champions like Diana, Camille, Hecarim, and Thresh. Kinda feels like Riot specifically picked champions who could carry the “sacred winter warrior” concept without it feeling forced. Senna fits naturally because her base fantasy already involves light and darkness, and the Winterblessed version leans hard into the light side with ice replacing shadow.

6 chromas total. Tanzanite is my go-to, the deep purple against the ice particles creates this contrast that reads beautifully in lane. Wreathguard leans into a holiday red-and-green palette that’s festive without being tacky. Ruby exists but honestly feels redundant when Wreathguard already covers the red spectrum better. (Random aside: I set the Tanzanite chroma splash as my Discord avatar for like three months straight.)

1820 RP. Full Legendary price. Standard voice, new VFX, new recall, new model. The whole deal. Shop has it permanently so no rush, but if you’re a Senna main this should be near the top of your list.

Comparing to other Senna skins

Senna has a stacked skin catalog at this point. True Damage was the OG hype skin. High Noon brought the western fantasy. Project went cyberpunk. Lunar Eclipse was the previous premium option before Winterblessed showed up.

Real talk though. Winterblessed is the best executed of the set. The VFX cohesion between abilities is tighter than Lunar Eclipse, and the voice lines have more personality than Project. True Damage still holds up for the music theme fans but as a pure gameplay skin, Winterblessed wins. Been maining Senna with this since it dropped in December 2023 and I keep coming back to it over everything else in my collection.

The only competition is Prestige Lunar Eclipse if you managed to grab it, and even then I think Winterblessed edges it out on ability VFX alone. The Q and R particles on Winterblessed are just cleaner.

Should you buy Winterblessed Senna?

Verdict time. If you play Senna in any role, support or ADC, this is the skin. 1820 RP well spent for mains. The new VO adds personality, the VFX improve visual clarity on key abilities, and the winter aesthetic ages well because its not tied to a specific pop culture moment like True Damage.

Could be wrong here but I think this skin actually gets better the more you play it. Season 14 I grinded maybe 150 ranked games with Winterblessed Senna and the animations never got old. The ult especially, every cross-map snipe still feels satisfying. For Senna one-tricks climbing in Diamond and above, the particle clarity on W and E gives you a genuine edge in teamfight readability.

Skip it only if you already own Prestige Lunar Eclipse and genuinely prefer that color palette. Everyone else, this is the Senna skin if you can only own one. Permanent shop, no vault anxiety. Lock it in.
