Undertaker Yorick

First time I saw Undertaker Yorick in a loading screen I thought someone was running a custom skin. Not because it looks wild or anything, just because you almost never see this one in games. Been playing Yorick on and off since season 4 and I think I’ve spotted maybe five of these total across hundreds of ranked games. Rare pick on a rare champion. Classic combo.

What actually changes on Undertaker Yorick

So the concept here is pretty straightforward. Yorick trades his default shepherd-of-the-dead look for something closer to a classic horror gravedigger. Think old western undertaker with the dark suit and top hat vibe. The model swap gives him this pale, gaunt appearance that honestly fits the champion fantasy better than some of his pricier skins.

For a 520 RP Standard tier skin, there’s some updated VFX which surprised me. Not gonna lie, I wasnt expecting Riot to touch the particles on something this old and cheap. The Q slam and the Mist Walkers get subtle color shifts that lean darker. Nothing dramatic but it reads cleaner than base in teamfights when you’re splitting bot lane and your ghouls are chewing through a tower.

Voice lines stay base. No new recall animation either. You’re getting a model swap with minor VFX tweaks and thats the package. For the price point though? Reasonable. The shovel looks different, the outfit change is distinct enough that you wont confuse it with default Yorick, and the overall silhouette still reads correctly for gameplay clarity.

Release and the Omen of the Dark line

Undertaker Yorick dropped June 22, 2011. Season 1 era. Mike Azevedo handled the artwork and honestly the splash holds up better than most 2011 splashes I can think of. Dark tones, moody composition. Clean work.

The skin belongs to the Omen of the Dark skinline. Not one of Riot’s bigger thematic universes, more of a loose horror collection from the early days. Kinda feels like they grouped a few spooky skins under one banner and moved on. No chromas on this one, which makes sense given the age and price tier.

Should you pick up Undertaker Yorick for 520 RP?

Real verdict: if you main Yorick and you’re building a collection, 520 RP is basically nothing. Shop has it permanently so no rush. Could be wrong here but I think this is actually the cheapest Yorick skin you can grab right now, and for splitpush mains who lock in Yorick every game in Diamond, having variety matters when you’re grinding 6 hours straight on a Saturday afternoon.

The competition is stiff though. Meowrick exists. Pentakill exists. Spirit Blossom Yorick is gorgeous. Undertaker Yorick isnt going to blow anyone’s mind in the loading screen. But there’s something about the simplicity that works. No flashy effects, no over-the-top theme. Just a dude with a shovel and some ghouls. Sometimes after a rough ranked session where my jungler inted three times pre-6, I swap to this skin specifically because it feels grounded.

Worth 520 RP if you main Yorick. Skip it if you’re only buying one Yorick skin, grab Meowrick or Spirit Blossom instead. But for one-tricks who want the full set? Easy pickup. Been running this in rotation since last season and it still holds up for a skin thats over a decade old.
