Officer Vi

First time I saw Officer Vi in a loading screen I thought it was a joke skin. Not gonna lie, the concept of Vi as a cop punching people in the face with giant police gauntlets is absurd. But thats exactly why it works. Been running this skin on and off since season 4 and it still gets reactions in lobby chat.

What Officer Vi actually changes

This is a 975 RP Standard tier skin so keep expectations in check. Vi gets a full police uniform, the gauntlets reshaped into these armored law enforcement fists, and a cop hat that somehow stays on through every Q charge. No new VFX on the abilities. Your Q still looks like base Q, E still has the same shockwave. Voice lines stay base too.

The recall animation is new though. Vi does this police-themed recall where she pulls out a megaphone. Small detail but it gives the skin personality that base Vi just doesnt have. Played maybe 40 games with this last month in Diamond and the recall is genuinely the highlight every time I back after a gank.

Model quality holds up surprisingly well for a 2013 skin. The blue uniform reads cleanly on the Rift, the badge catches light during teamfights, and the gauntlets have enough detail that you can tell its not just a recolor. Could be wrong here but I think the silhouette actually reads better than some of Vi’s newer skins because the cop hat adds height to the model.

The Cops and Robbers line and release context

Officer Vi dropped October 29, 2013. Late season 3. Bo Lu handled the artwork and the splash captures this mid-chase energy. Vi looking dead at you with the gauntlet forward. Clean composition.

Part of the Cops and Robbers skinline alongside Officer Caitlyn. The pairing makes sense lore-wise since Vi and Caitlyn are partners in Piltover already. Running both in bot lane with a duo is peak thematic comp. Did this last Tuesday with my support main buddy and the enemy team typed “arrested” in all chat when we dove their ADC pre-6. Worth it.

5 chromas available. Obsidian turns the uniform dark, almost tactical unit vibes. I think Aquamarine is the sleeper pick though, the light blue reads like a classic police academy uniform. Ruby exists but red cop uniform feels weird to me (sidebar: who decided cops should be red, thats a firefighter). Pearl and Emerald round it out but I keep coming back to base or Obsidian.

Is Officer Vi worth 975 RP?

Straight talk: 975 RP feels fair for what you get. You’re paying for a solid model change, a fun recall, and a skin concept that actually fits Vi’s personality. She’s a brawler who punches first and asks questions never. Cop uniform is just formalizing what she already does.

If you main Vi in the jungle this is a strong pickup. Not her best skin, Project and Arcane probably edge it out for pure quality, but Officer Vi has charm those skins dont. Kinda feels like Riot made this skin because someone on the team thought it was funny and just committed. Shop has it permanently so no rush, but for Vi one-tricks this belongs in the rotation. Been season 9 I think since I first bought it and still lock it in when I want something lighter than the edgy skins. Simple change – huge impact on the vibe.
