Lunar Eclipse Senna

Locked in Lunar Eclipse Senna the night it dropped in April 2022 and played maybe 15 games back to back that same weekend. Not gonna lie, the skin hit harder than I expected for an Epic. The Eclipse line has a specific vibe that works on certain champions and falls flat on others. Senna fits. The dark celestial armor with silver and purple accents reads clean on the Rift, and the splash alone had me sold before I even loaded into a game.

Visual changes and how they feel in game

The model is where Lunar Eclipse Senna earns its 1350 RP. Senna’s relic cannon gets this ornate lunar design with crescent motifs running along the barrel. The armor itself shifts her silhouette enough that you notice it in lane. Darker palette compared to the base skin, heavy on navy and silver with purple energy effects throughout.

VFX got a full rework for this tier. Her Q healing beam comes out in this pale violet wave that feels satisfying to land on your ADC during a teamfight. W roots with a lunar burst effect, the chain snapping into place looks crisp. Could be wrong here but I think the E camouflage mist reads slightly different too, more wispy and cosmic. R is the real showpiece. The Dawning Shadow beam fires out with eclipse-themed particles and theres a noticeable lunar ring effect on impact. Been running this in Diamond ranked for a while now and the ult VFX genuinely feel like they travel faster, even though obviously they dont.

Recall animation is new. Senna channels lunar energy through her cannon in this kneeling pose. Short and clean. Voice lines stay base, no VO refresh on this one, which is standard for Epics. (Random sidebar: the recall music loop is oddly relaxing for a skin about cosmic eclipses.)

The Eclipse skinline and release context

Lunar Eclipse Senna dropped April 28, 2022. Late season 12. Augusto Quirino and West Studio handled the artwork, and they captured the duality theme perfectly. The splash has Senna standing opposite her Solar Eclipse counterpart energy, which ties into how Riot structured the whole Eclipse set.

The Eclipse line is one of Riot’s more consistent thematic runs. Leona got both Solar and Lunar versions, Aatrox got the Lunar treatment, and Senna slots in naturally given her light-and-dark champion identity. Kinda feels like Riot designed the skinline with Senna in mind from the start, honestly.

8 chromas total for Lunar Eclipse Senna. Tanzanite is my go-to, the deep purple leans into the lunar aesthetic harder than base. Ruby shifts the whole color identity toward crimson which looks aggressive in bot lane specifically. Pearl goes pale and ethereal, almost ghostly, which some Senna mains prefer for the contrast against darker Rift terrain. Shop has it at 1350 RP, permanent availability.

Should you pick up Lunar Eclipse Senna?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic. Not the flashiest Senna skin in the catalog. High Noon exists, Project exists. But Lunar Eclipse Senna does something different. The darker tone suits support Senna players who want something less aggressive than the western or sci-fi themes. Been maining Senna with this skin on and off since season 12 and I keep coming back to it over newer releases.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX across all abilities, solid recall, clean model. If you play Senna as your peel support in ranked or you’re an ADC Senna player who wants the backline fantasy with some style, this delivers. Maybe just my experience but last Tuesday I had a game where my Kayn inted three times pre-6 and somehow the Lunar Eclipse aesthetic kept my mental together through the loss. Skip it if you already own High Noon and only play one Senna skin. But for mains who rotate cosmetics, this belongs in your collection. Best Eclipse skin after Leona, full stop.
