El Tigre Braum

First time I saw El Tigre Braum load into my game I thought someone modded a wrestling game into League. Not gonna lie, the splash alone sold me before I even saw the in-game model. Braum in a full luchador outfit with a championship belt and a tiger mask is exactly the kind of ridiculous energy this champion deserves. Played maybe 40 games on this skin the first week it dropped and I still rotate back to it regularly in Diamond support queue.

So what actually changes here. Braum trades his ram shield for a folding chair. A literal folding chair. That detail alone carries half the skin’s value. The stance with it is perfect, he holds it like hes about to swing on somebody at a wrestling event, and the idle animations sell the whole pro wrestler fantasy hard.

VFX got a full rework for an Epic tier. Q throws out a tiger-shaped projectile instead of the standard ice fist, orange and black energy trailing behind it. Looks clean against the Rift’s green and you can track it easier than base Braum Q in teamfights. W leap has a fiery entrance effect, like Braum is making his grand entrance into the ring. E shield pulls up the folding chair with wrestling rope VFX around the edges. Real talk though, the best part is the R. Braum slams down and a full wrestling ring outline erupts from the ground. The knockup zone reads as a squared circle and the crowd goes wild. Not literally, but you get what I mean.

Recall animation is where Riot put extra love. Braum flexes, does a pose-down sequence, and the crowd cheers. Could be wrong here but I think this was one of the earlier skins where the recall animation told a whole mini-story. Back in January 2015 that wasnt as standard as it is now.

Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Honestly Braum’s default voice is so good it doesnt need replacing. JB Blanc’s performance already sounds like a guy who’d be a pro wrestler anyway. The base lines about protecting friends and standing strong fit the luchador vibe without any changes needed.

El Tigre Braum dropped January 21, 2015. Season 5 era. Alvin Lee nailed the splash, the composition with Braum mid-air dropping an elbow on what looks like a monster is genuinely one of the more dynamic splash arts in the game. The color work pops.

Part of the Luchador skinline alongside El Rayo Volibear and El Macho Mundo and El Leon Gnar. The Luchador line is one of those themed sets that Riot nails every time they touch it. Mexican wrestling aesthetic translates surprisingly well to League champions, especially beefy frontliners like Braum. (Random aside: I used to watch lucha libre with my roommate back in college and this skin hits different because of that.)

No chromas available for El Tigre Braum. Kinda feels like a missed opportunity because a black and gold colorway or a silver mask variant would go hard. But the base orange and black tiger pattern works fine on its own. Still in the shop at 1350 RP, permanent availability.

Should you lock in El Tigre Braum?

Real verdict: this is top three Braum skins for me. Maybe top two. The folding chair shield is iconic, the wrestling ring ult VFX is clean for gameplay clarity, and the whole package feels worth 1350 RP. Last season around November I think, I had a stretch where I played Braum into every engage comp and El Tigre was the only skin I used. Something about the luchador energy makes you play more aggressive in lane. Placebo probably but it felt real.

If you main Braum or even just play him as a pocket pick for peel comps, this is a strong buy. The VFX changes on Q and R are noticeable enough that it feels like a different experience from base. Skip it only if you already own Braum Lionheart or Sugar Rush and dont need another Epic in the collection. For everyone else who locks in Braum when the team needs frontline and you want to feel like a champion before the game even starts, El Tigre Braum delivers. 1350 RP well spent for mains, no question.

Been running this in my ranked games since season 5 on and off. Ten years later and the skin still holds up. Simple change from the base model but huge impact on how the champion feels. That folding chair never gets old.
