DWG Kennen

First time I saw DWG Kennen drop in a ranked game I had to double-take. Looked like a tiny ninja wrapped in DAMWON’s blue and white jersey ready to int bot lane. Not gonna lie, the Worlds skins always hit different for me because they carry that competitive weight behind them. This one specifically came out April 29, 2021, celebrating DAMWON Gaming’s 2020 World Championship run, and Kennen was BeryL’s pick if I remember right. Support Kennen. Wild times.

Visual changes and what you actually notice in game

So this is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, which means you get new VFX and a custom recall animation. Voice lines stay base. The model swap puts Kennen in a clean esports jersey with DAMWON’s signature color scheme, that deep navy blue with white and gold accents. Looks sharp in the loading screen.

The Q shuriken gets replaced with what looks like a glowing blue projectile, almost like a miniature trophy. Thats a nice touch. W proc sparks carry the blue theme, and when you pop your ult in a teamfight the whole thing reads as this swirling blue electrical storm. Honestly the R is where the skin earns its value. Playing this in Diamond last season around 3 AM, I landed a five-man ult in dragon pit and the blue lightning just covered the entire screen. Beautiful chaos.

The recall animation is the highlight for me. Kennen does this little celebration with the Summoner’s Cup, which is standard for Worlds skins but still feels good every time you back after winning lane. Could be wrong here but I think the recall has a small signature from BeryL worked into it. E particles keep that blue trail too, so your Lightning Rush looks cohesive with the rest of the kit. No new voice filter or VO refresh though, which is expected for this price point.

The World Champions 2020 line and context

DWG Kennen sits in the World Champions: 2020 skinline alongside the other DAMWON picks. Jennifer Wuestling handled the artwork, and she captured the vibe perfectly. The splash shows Kennen mid-action with the trophy integrated into the background composition. Clean work.

There’s 1 chroma available, the Elite variant. Dark navy base shifts to a deeper contrast with blue highlights cranked up. Kinda feels like the “away jersey” version if that makes sense. (Random aside: I actually prefer the Elite chroma over the base because the darker tones read better against Summoner’s Rift green.) The chroma dropped alongside the skin release, April 2021, late into season 11.

Legacy vault skin. You cant just walk into the shop and grab it whenever. Worlds skins typically cycle back during the annual championship event or show up in Hextech crafting. Been playing since season 9 I think or 10 dont remember exactly, and I’ve seen these vault openings happen pretty consistently every October. If you want DWG Kennen specifically, plan around that window.

Is DWG Kennen worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this skin lives or dies based on how much you care about competitive LoL history. If you’re a Kennen main who watched DAMWON demolish everyone in 2020, this is an easy lock-in. The VFX changes are solid for an Epic, the recall animation has personality, and the blue colorway stands out from Kennen’s other options.

But if esports context means nothing to you, there’s skins like Infernal Kennen or Blood Moon Kennen that offer more dramatic visual changes for the same price bracket. Maybe just my experience but I keep coming back to DWG Kennen specifically because of what it represents. Been maining Kennen with this in ranked for a solid stretch last Tuesday through the weekend and the skin just feels right for engage comps where you’re flanking the backline.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Not overpriced, not a steal. Standard Worlds skin package with enough polish to justify the tag. Skip this unless you have some connection to DAMWON’s run or you’re building the full Kennen collection. For one-tricks though, top pick for Kennen mains who want something with competitive history behind it.
