Locked in DWG Jhin the day it dropped in April 2021 and played maybe 30 games with it that first week. The World Champions skins always carry a different energy because you know a real pro player picked that champion for a reason. Ghost on Jhin at Worlds 2020 was something else. Watching him kite teamfights on the Rift made me want to spam Jhin in ranked, and this skin gave me the excuse.
What the DWG skin actually changes on Jhin
Not gonna lie, for an Epic tier skin the VFX work here is clean. The Q bounces have that DAMWON blue glow trailing behind them, and the W root indicator shifts to this sharp dark blue line that reads better in lane than base Jhin’s gold. The E traps sit on the ground with the DWG emblem faintly visible if you look close enough. Could be wrong here but I think the trap visibility is slightly different from default, at least in bot lane on the blue side specifically.
The R is where it hits hardest. Curtain Call shots come out with that deep navy particle trail and each bullet impact has the org’s branding woven into the VFX. Four shots. Four chances to style on the backline. The fourth shot especially pops with a burst effect thats noticeably more satisfying than base.
Recall animation is custom. Jhin does this pose with the DWG logo forming behind him, very pro player celebration energy. Quick and stylish. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is standard for Worlds skins at this price point. Quinton Flynn’s original performance is strong enough that it doesnt feel like a loss.
Model-wise Jhin gets the DAMWON jersey treatment with blue and black across the outfit. The mask keeps Jhin’s silhouette readable but adds the team’s color scheme. Looks sharp in-game during teamfights, the dark palette doesn’t get lost in ability spam the way some lighter skins do.
The Worlds 2020 line and where DWG Jhin fits
Released April 29, 2021 as part of the World Champions: 2020 set. Jennifer Wuestling nailed the splash, the composition puts Jhin center stage with that dramatic lighting DWG’s branding colors demanded. Season 11 release, back when DAMWON was still riding the high of their championship run.
The World Champions: 2020 lineup included skins for the full roster Ghost played. DWG Jhin sits in that Legacy vault now, so you cant just grab it whenever. Hextech only these days unless Riot decides to bring it back for a Worlds event sale. Seen maybe two of these in my Diamond games all season, which honestly makes it feel more exclusive when you do run it.
One chroma exists: the Elite variant. Dark blue base shifts toward a deeper navy with brighter blue accents. (Random aside: the Elite chroma on Worlds skins is basically Riot’s way of saying “you watched esports live,” respect to anyone who has it.) At 1350 RP for the base skin, standard Epic pricing. The World Champions line always hits that price point.
Should you pick up DWG Jhin?
Real verdict: if you’re a Jhin main who follows pro play, this skin carries meaning beyond cosmetics. Ghost’s Jhin was iconic at that tournament. The VFX changes are solid for 1350 RP, the recall is clean, and the model looks good in lane and in late-game teamfights when you’re setting up Curtain Call from the backline.
Jhin has a stacked skin catalog though. Project Jhin, Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin, High Noon Jhin all compete hard. DWG Jhin is more understated than those. Kinda feels like it’s the skin you pick when you want to rep esports history rather than flashy effects. Been running this as my secondary Jhin skin since season 12, rotating it in when I want something cleaner than Dark Cosmic.
1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The Legacy availability means you might need to wait for it to rotate back or get lucky with a chest drop. Worth grabbing if it shows up in Your Shop or during a Worlds event. Skip the wait if you dont care about esports tie-ins, but for ADC mains who remember that Worlds run, DWG Jhin is a solid lock-in. Last Tuesday I pulled it out in a ranked game around midnight and my support immediately commented on it. People remember this skin.
