Debonair Brand

First time I saw Debonair Brand on the PBE cycle back in late 2021, I thought Riot was trolling. Brand in a suit? The guy is literally on fire. But then I loaded it into a ranked game around 2 AM on a Wednesday and honestly the whole vibe just clicked. There’s something about watching a dude in a tailored green suit melt the enemy backline that hits different.

What Debonair Brand actually looks like in game

So the model is clean. Brand trades his usual burning-corpse aesthetic for this sharp emerald suit with gold accents. Think James Bond but if Bond could proc passive stacks and delete your health bar. The green flame particles on his abilities are the star here. His Q fireball comes out as this refined green energy bolt, and his W pillar reads really well against the Rift floor. Not gonna lie, the W circle is one of the easiest to track of any Brand skin I’ve used.

The E spread looks slick when you land it in a teamfight. Watching green flames bounce between three or four targets bunched up in dragon pit is genuinely satisfying. Been running this in Diamond support games and the VFX clarity actually helps me track my passive stacks better than base. Could be wrong here but I think the green just contrasts better against most terrain.

His ult is where it gets fun. The bouncing flame turns into this elegant green fireball that looks way too classy for how much damage it does. Killed a Katarina and her Kayn jungler with one R bounce last season in a game where we had no business winning. The recall animation has Brand adjusting his suit and checking a pocket watch. Simple change – huge impact on the fantasy.

Voice lines stay base, no new VO on this one. Standard for a 1350 RP Epic tier skin. But the new VFX and recall carry enough weight that I dont really miss it.

The Debonair line and release context

Debonair Brand dropped December 9, 2021. Late season 11 into preseason 12. West Studio handled the artwork, they captured this weird tension between elegance and destruction that makes the whole concept work.

The Debonair skinline is one of Riot’s attempts at the “villains in formal wear” thing. Brand fits it better than you’d expect. Debonair Zed, Debonair Leona, Debonair Draven all came in the same batch. Brand stands out because his base fantasy is so far from sophistication that the contrast actually makes him more interesting. Kinda feels like the design team leaned into the absurdity and it paid off.

9 chromas total on this one. Obsidian is my personal pick, swaps the green suit for all black with dark flame particles and it looks menacing in lane. Amethyst shifts everything purple which reads like a dark mage vibe rather than the suave gentleman angle. Cerulean Club is the event exclusive if you managed to grab it, blue and white combo thats pretty clean. The rest cover your standard Ruby, Catseye, Rose Quartz spread but honestly after trying most of them I keep coming back to Obsidian or base green.

(Random aside: the Obsidian chroma splash would make a sick phone wallpaper if Riot ever released standalone chroma splashes.)

Is Debonair Brand worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you play Brand support or mid with any regularity, this is a strong pickup. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX overhaul is noticeable, the model is distinctive, and it looks nothing like any other Brand skin in the catalog. Zombie Brand and Spirit Fire Brand are the usual competitors people talk about, and I think Debonair holds its own against both.

Where it falls short is the audio. No new voice filter, no ability SFX that feel dramatically different from base. For some people thats a dealbreaker at this price point. Maybe just my experience but after like 50 games with it I stopped noticing the sound and just appreciated the visuals.

Shop has it permanently. No vault rotation to worry about. If you’re a Brand one-trick or even just someone who pulls him out for specific comps when you need poke and engage punishment in bot lane, Debonair Brand is worth the slot. Skip it if you already own Spirit Fire and only play Brand occasionally. But for mains? Top pick for Brand mains who want something that looks clean without going full meme like Zombie. Been daily driving this since season 12 and it still feels fresh walking into lane.
