Dark Cosmic Lissandra

First time I saw Dark Cosmic Lissandra in a loading screen I actually paused to look at the splash. Not something I do often. The whole cosmic horror angle fits Lissandra so naturally it feels like Riot designed her kit around the skinline and not the other way around. Been running this in Diamond for a few seasons now and I keep coming back to it over every other Lissandra option.

What actually changes on the Rift

The VFX overhaul is the real selling point here. Her Q sends out this swirling dark matter projectile that trails cosmic particles across the lane. Looks clean against the Summoner’s Rift backdrop, especially during laning phase when you’re poking through minion waves. The W root effect pulls in these collapsing star visuals around whoever gets caught. Trapped their Jinx in dragon pit last Tuesday with it and my support actually typed “that looked sick” in chat.

E is where it gets interesting. The claw travels through the ground with this deep space rift trailing behind it, and when you reactivate to blink forward the arrival effect has this gravitational burst. Feels impactful. Her ult though. Frozen Tomb creates this cosmic singularity that radiates outward with dark purple and blue energy. In teamfights when you dive the backline and self-cast R, the visual reads perfectly. Your team knows you’re invulnerable, enemies know the zone is dangerous. Good gameplay clarity for an Epic tier skin.

New recall animation too. She channels cosmic energy and kind of tears open a rift in space. Short and sweet. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is standard for 1350 RP. Not gonna lie, I think custom voice lines would have pushed this into S-tier territory for Lissandra skins but thats asking a lot for the price point.

The Dark Star line and release context

Dark Cosmic Lissandra dropped November 24, 2020. Late into season 10. Lucas Parolin and West Studio handled the artwork, and they captured something genuinely unsettling with the splash. Lissandra floating in void space with galaxies crumbling around her. Check their portfolios if you’re into League splash art, solid work across the board.

The Dark Star skinline is one of Riot’s strongest thematic lines period. Jhin, Thresh, Mordekaiser, Jarvan – the lineup speaks for itself. Lissandra fits the cosmic destroyer fantasy better than most because her base kit already has that ancient unknowable entity vibe. Could be wrong here but I think Dark Cosmic Lissandra is one of the more underrated entries in the Dark Star catalog. Maybe just my experience but I rarely see it in my games. Saw it twice all of last season in Diamond, which is a shame.

9 chromas total if you want variety. Obsidian goes full dark mode, almost Void-like, which I’ve been daily driving since around March. Pearl shifts the palette to this clean white-silver cosmic look that reads completely different from base. Rainbow is the flashy pick obviously. (Random aside: the Rainbow chroma on Lissandra ult in a teamfight looks like a pride parade supernova and I’m here for it.) The rest cover your standard color spread but those three stand out.

Is Dark Cosmic Lissandra worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you play Lissandra with any regularity this is the skin. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX package alone carries it. Coven Lissandra is the main competition and honestly its close, but Dark Cosmic edges it out on ability effects for me personally. Porcelain is solid too but leans more elegant where this one leans powerful.

For Lissandra mains climbing through ranked, the skin reads well in lane and in teamfights. No visual clutter, no confusing particles, just clean cosmic destruction. Permanent shop availability so no rush. Been maining Lissandra with this equipped since season 11 I think or 12 dont remember, and I have zero plans to swap. Top pick for Lissandra mains, especially if you grab the Obsidian or Pearl chroma alongside it.
