Cyber Halo Janna

First game I loaded this skin into was a late night ranked session, maybe 1 AM on a Wednesday. Locked in Janna support, hovered Cyber Halo Janna, and my ADC typed “that skin goes crazy” before minions even spawned. Kinda feels like the Steel Valkyries line doesnt get enough love compared to something like Star Guardian, but this one earned that compliment. The mech-angel aesthetic hits a sweet spot between sci-fi and divine that most Janna skins don’t even attempt.

What Cyber Halo Janna actually brings to the table

New VFX across the board. Big deal for an Epic at 1350 RP. Her Q tornado swaps out the wind funnel for this spiraling energy beam thing, bright cyan with circuit-line traces running through it. Reads cleanly against the Rift, which matters when you’re trying to land max-range tornados in a teamfight. Not gonna lie, the W zephyr projectile is probably the weakest part visually. Small particle change, you notice it if you’re looking but your lane opponents wont care.

E shield is where the skin earns its keep. The hexagonal barrier wraps around your carry with this satisfying pulse effect. Played maybe 80 games with this skin across season 12 and 13, and the shield visual alone made me feel like I was peeling better. Placebo? Probably. But it matters.

Her R, the Monsoon, gets the full treatment. Bright radial burst with geometric patterns spreading outward. Clean. In a chaotic dragon pit fight last season my Monsoon knocked back three people and my jungler pinged the thumbs up emote four times. Could be wrong here but I think the VFX made the play look more dramatic than it actually was.

The recall animation is new too. Janna floats up into this mech-suit docking station sequence. Short, clean, fits the Steel Valkyries theme without overstaying its welcome. Voice lines stay base, standard for an Epic tier skin. No VO refresh.

Steel Valkyries and the details

Released August 25, 2022. Late into season 12, right around the time everyone was focused on Worlds hype. Jack Hsu and West Studio handled the artwork, and they cooked. The splash captures this hovering mech-angel silhouette against a cyberpunk skyline. (Random aside: I used the centered splash as my Discord banner for like three months straight.)

The Steel Valkyries line is one of Riot’s more underrated skinlines. Janna fits the concept naturally. Protective support champion reimagined as a guardian mech pilot. Makes more sense than some of the forced theme assignments Riot pushes out.

9 chromas total. Tanzanite is my pick, the deep purple shifts the whole color identity into something that feels Legendary-adjacent. Pearl runs the opposite direction, bright and clean, almost clinical. Real talk though, most of the chromas are solid here. Ruby exists for the red enthusiasts but I think it clashes with the base design philosophy. Available any time in the shop at 1350 RP.

Should you buy Cyber Halo Janna?

Straight talk: this is a strong Epic. Not the best Janna skin full stop, Star Guardian and Sacred Sword both exist, but Cyber Halo Janna occupies a completely different aesthetic lane. If you’re a Janna main who wants something that feels modern and sci-fi without going full PROJECT-style overdesign, this is it.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on every ability, solid recall, cohesive theme. Been running this in my support rotation for a while now and it holds up. The Q and R particles specifically read well in lane and in teamfights, which is more than I can say for some of her older skins where the abilities blend into the background.

Skip it if you already own Star Guardian Janna and only play her occasionally. Worth 1350 RP if you main Janna or if the Steel Valkyries aesthetic speaks to you. I keep coming back to this one over Forecast and Battle Queen, which says something. Season 13 I think I played it more than any other Janna skin in my collection. Might be overthinking it but the VFX clarity genuinely helps in Diamond games where every tornado needs to count.
