SKT T1 Jhin

First time I saw SKT T1 Jhin in a loading screen I had to double take. The white and red jersey look on the Virtuoso felt wrong for about two seconds, then it clicked. Faker’s squad won Worlds 2016 and Jhin was a massive part of that meta. The skin captures that era of competitive League in a way that hits different if you were watching those finals live. Not gonna lie, I stayed up way too late that night.

How the skin actually plays

For an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, SKT T1 Jhin delivers solid changes. The model swaps Jhin’s usual theatrical outfit for the SKT jersey and white pants combo. His mask gets the red and white treatment too, which is a clean touch. The gun redesign leans into the esports branding without looking tacky.

VFX got reworked across the board. His Q bounces carry that SKT red trail, and the W snare line reads crisply against the Rift. Played maybe 40 games with this skin last season and the R shots feel satisfying – each curtain call bullet has that red energy pulse. The fourth shot still pops with the signature Jhin impact but now its dressed in team colors.

Recall animation is where the personality shows. Jhin does this trophy celebration that references the Worlds victory. Simple change – huge impact. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is expected for a Worlds skin at this price point. Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack animations feel slightly snappier, though thats probably just placebo from the cleaner particle work.

The 2016 World Champions line and release context

SKT T1 Jhin dropped June 27, 2017 as part of the World Champions: 2016 skinline. Alvin Lee handled the artwork, and the splash captures Jhin mid-performance with the SKT branding prominent. Good composition. The whole 2016 Worlds set came out together honoring SKT’s dominant run through that tournament.

The World Champions: 2016 line is one of those skinlines that marks a specific moment in League history. Been playing this game since season 4 and watching SKT run through teams that year was something else. Jhin was a priority pick in bot lane during that meta, the utility from his W and R in competitive comps made him a staple. The skin commemorates that perfectly.

No chromas on this one. Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it whenever you want. Hextech only these days unless Riot brings the vault skins back for a limited event. Seen maybe two of these in my Diamond games all season (random aside: both times the Jhin player was actually cracked at cs).

Should you pick up SKT T1 Jhin?

Real verdict: this skin lives or dies on how much you care about esports history. If you watched SKT demolish Samsung Galaxy in 2016, if you remember the Jhin picks and the four-shot fantasy playing out on the Worlds stage, then SKT T1 Jhin carries weight beyond its visuals. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get.

Jhin has better skins purely on aesthetics. High Noon Jhin exists. Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin exists. Those skins transform the champion more dramatically. But SKT T1 Jhin isnt trying to be a fantasy reimagining. Think of it more like wearing a jersey to a game. You know what surprised me? The red VFX actually read well in teamfights, better than some of his flashier alternatives where the particles get lost in the backline chaos.

For Jhin mains who also follow pro play, this is a must-own. For everyone else, maybe wait until it rotates out of the vault during a Worlds event. I keep it in rotation alongside two or three other Jhin skins and lock it in specifically when I’m feeling the competitive energy. Last Tuesday around 1 AM in a ranked game, pulled this skin out and went 14/2. Correlation isnt causation but I’m not changing the formula. Worth 1350 RP if you main Jhin and care about the legacy behind it. Skip it if you just want the flashiest ADC skin in the game.
