First time I saw Prestige Pulsefire Lucian load into a game was around 3 AM during a Diamond promo series back in season 10. My ADC locked Lucian and this white-gold Pulsefire variant popped up on the loading screen. Stopped me dead. Clean is an understatement. The entire color shift from the standard Pulsefire blue to this prestige white-gold hits so much harder than I expected from a prestige edition. Been chasing this skin ever since that night.
What Prestige Pulsefire Lucian actually changes
So the base Pulsefire Lucian already runs new VFX across the board, and the prestige variant keeps all of that but recolors everything into white and gold tones. Gorgeous stuff. Q fires these bright gold laser shots that read clean against the Rift, and honestly the W mark pops better than the standard blue version. Easier to track in teamfights when everything is chaos and your frontline is diving.
Not gonna lie, the auto attack particles might be where this skin shines hardest. Lucian’s passive procs with these sharp golden streaks and it just makes the double-shot feel more satisfying. Could be placebo but I swear my cs numbers went up the first week I used it. The E dash leaves a gold trail that fades quick, nothing distracting, just enough to feel premium.
The ult is where opinions split. Standard Pulsefire Lucian has that heavy blue barrage, but the prestige version turns it into a golden light show. I think it looks better in lane than in late-game teamfights where theres so much visual noise already. Real talk though, the recall animation stays the same as base Pulsefire with the prestige color treatment. New recall included. No new voice lines on this one, voice stays default, but TJ Storm’s base VO for Lucian carries enough weight that it doesnt feel like a miss.
(sidebar: the gold particles on Lucian’s passive proc against a dark Summoner’s Rift skin look insane at night, I’ve screenshot it maybe 40 times)
The Pulsefire line and release context
Prestige Pulsefire Lucian dropped May 14, 2020. Mid-season 10. Pulsefire as a skinline has always been one of Riot’s more ambitious sci-fi themes, and Lucian fits the time-cop fantasy pretty naturally. The line includes some heavy hitters like Pulsefire Ezreal and Pulsefire Thresh, so the prestige Lucian variant sits in good company.
Malex Zhang and Kudos Productions handled the splash art. They nailed the white-gold armor aesthetic without making it look washed out, which I think is the biggest risk with prestige skins. Some prestige editions end up looking like someone just slapped a yellow filter on the base. Not here. The splash has distinct composition and the gold detailing on Lucian’s armor reads as intentional, not lazy.
This is a Mythic tier skin with Special pricing. No standard RP tag on this one. Originally you needed Pulsefire 2020 event tokens to grab it, and now it sits in the prestige rotation through Mythic Essence. Available now if you have the currency. Zero chromas on this skin, which makes sense for a prestige edition. What you see is what you get.
Who should pick up Prestige Pulsefire Lucian
Verdict time. If you’re a Lucian main grinding ranked, this is one of his cleanest skins. Period. Been running this in Diamond for three seasons and the VFX never get old. The gold color scheme stands out without being obnoxious, and the ability particles actually help with gameplay clarity in my experience. Might be overthinking it but the Q animation feels slightly more readable than base Pulsefire.
Compared to High Noon Lucian or Project Lucian, the prestige Pulsefire fills a different niche. High Noon is the flashy Legendary pick. Project is the dark tech option. Prestige Pulsefire is the refined flex. S-tier Lucian cosmetic. If you have Mythic Essence sitting around and you play Lucian even semi-regularly, this is a strong pick. I played maybe 300 games on this skin between season 10 and now and keep coming back to it over the other options in his lineup.
Skip it if you never touch ADC or if you’re saving Mythic Essence for something else. But for Lucian one-tricks and bot lane mains who want that prestige feel without the visual clutter of some Legendary skins, Prestige Pulsefire Lucian earns its spot. Top shelf.
