Prestige Lunar Beast Fiora

First time I saw this skin pop up in champ select, I thought someone was flexing event tokens they had no business grinding. Prestige Lunar Beast Fiora dropped February 4, 2021, right in the middle of the Lunar Beast event, and getting it meant burning through the pass like your life depended on it. Been maining Fiora on and off since season 8 and I remember staying up way too late that patch week trying to finish the grind. Worth it? Kinda feels like it depends on how much you care about gold trim.

The golden Fiora treatment

So the base Lunar Beast Fiora already has a strong mech-suit vibe going. The Prestige version takes that and wraps everything in white and gold. Not subtle. The VFX got the Prestige treatment too, with her Q lunge leaving this pale golden trail that reads clean against the Rift. Her W riposte flashes bright, almost champagne-colored, and the parry frame looks sharper than the standard version. Honestly not gonna lie, the Vital procs are where you notice the difference most. That gold burst when you pop a Vital mid-trade in lane feels satisfying in a way thats hard to explain.

New recall animation carries over from base Lunar Beast but with the Prestige color shift. She does the whole elegant fencing pose surrounded by golden particles. Clean stuff. Voice lines stay base though, no new VO for this one. Karen Strassman still doing the voice work, and Fiora’s default lines hold up fine. The French accent works regardless of skin.

E auto resets feel the same gameplay-wise obviously, but the hit particles have that warm gold flash. In teamfights when you’re diving the backline and proccing Vitals on their ADC, the golden bursts actually make it easier to track which Vitals you’ve hit. Could be wrong here but I think the visual clarity is slightly better than base Lunar Beast where the blue-purple tones can blend into certain map areas.

R Grand Challenge marks show up in gold too. All four Vitals highlighted with that Prestige shimmer. When you proc all four and the heal zone drops, the golden circle on the ground looks premium. Played maybe 40 games with this skin last season in Diamond and the ult zone consistently looked better than any other Fiora skin I own.

Lunar Beast line and release context

The Lunar Beast skinline launched for Lunar New Year 2021, celebrating the Year of the Ox. Fiora fit the line well since her duelist identity works with the mech-beast aesthetic. Jennifer Wuestling handled the artwork on the splash, and the composition is solid. Fiora standing in that golden armor with the mechanical beast frame behind her. Portfolio piece material honestly.

This Mythic tier skin came as a Prestige Point or event token reward. Special pricing, meaning you couldnt just buy it outright for RP. You had to grind the event pass or have Prestige Points saved up. Now it sits in the Legacy vault. Vault rotation skin, so you’re looking at Hextech crafting or waiting for a Mythic shop rotation to grab it.

No chromas for this one, which makes sense. Prestige skins are the chroma in a way. The whole point is the white-gold color scheme. (Random aside: I still think Riot should do a dark Prestige variant someday, like black and silver instead of the eternal white-gold formula.)

The Lunar Beast set also included Jarvan IV, Darius, Viego, and Aphelios. Fiora’s Prestige version was the chase reward for the event. Season 11 launch window, pre-6 item rework meta where Fiora was actually strong in solo queue. Good timing.

How it compares to other Fiora skins

Fiora has a deep skin catalog now. Project Fiora still holds up as a strong pick. Pool Party is the fun option. iG Fiora has the legacy esports appeal. But Prestige Lunar Beast occupies a specific lane – it’s the flex skin. You lock this in and people know you either grinded hard or got lucky with rerolls.

Compared to regular Lunar Beast, the Prestige version is cleaner. The base version has darker blues and purples that look good but feel busier. The gold simplifies the palette. In my Diamond games last Tuesday around 2 AM (dont ask why I was still queueing), I switched between both versions across a few games and the Prestige consistently felt easier on the eyes during extended laning phase.

Pulsefire Fiora goes harder on the sci-fi angle. Soaring Sword has the wuxia fantasy. Prestige Lunar Beast sits between them. Elegant but techy. Three things stood out after months of use: the Q particle, the Vital proc flash, and the recall. Everything else is solid but those three elements carry the skin.

The honest take

Should you chase this skin? If you’re a Fiora one-trick, absolutely. It’s one of those skins that signals commitment. The gold VFX are clean, the splash is strong, and the overall package feels earned rather than bought. S-tier Fiora cosmetic for sure.

But real talk though – if you missed the original event, you’re at the mercy of Hextech crafting or Mythic shop rotations. That’s the rough part. You can’t just drop RP and walk away with it. Been sitting on 3 gemstones for months hoping for the right rotation. Maybe just my experience but the Mythic shop selections never seem to line up with what I actually want.

For Fiora mains who already own it, keep it in rotation. For everyone else, it’s a nice-to-have but not essential. Project and iG cover the “premium Fiora” slot just fine if you cant get your hands on this one. Skip it unless you main her and care about the exclusivity factor.
